As an avid fan of Faction Play (FP) and the potential it has to be a fun and entertaining aspect of this game I'm sure you've noticed the lack of any sort of population partaking in FP when there are no events. The entire map is focused around one area (Jade Falcon and Steiner fronts), leaving the players from other Factions with almost nothing to do.

With the July Faction Play event there has been a marked increase in FP populations throughout all factions. Heck, Ghost Bears managed to actually take a few planets with the majority of our warriors coming out of hibernation to help fight in the Inner Sphere. Which brings me to why I believe there should be more Faction Play events.

1.) It brings more people into Faction Play. Simple as that. The game mode should not be as dead as it is when there are no events but the sad fact is that there is pretty much no one playing in a game mode that has so much potential.

2.) More players=more feedback. Meow, it is commonly agreed that FP has a lot of work that needs to be done on it. The forums are chalk full of constructive feedback (although some of it is worded in a little more colorful language than others). With more players entering the FP arena, there is a bigger pool of opinions, ideas, and observers to come together and work towards creating a balanced level of game-play that we can all enjoy whether you are Inner Sphere or Clan.


3) Rewards are a huge incentive. Me personally, I enjoy the Loot Bag events and find myself staying on MWO far longer than I should as a responsible adult as I get sucked in to grabbing as many loot bag points as I can.

Meow don't get me wrong, this is just someone who enjoys FP pointing out some things that could both help make the game mode better and keep a sizable population active. There's a lot that needs fixing but with more attention and players being brought into FP the quicker we can make it a viable and enjoyable game mode for all.
