Another brawler I use in CW:

one uAC/10 @ 4.5t ammo, 3 aSRM/6 @ 5.5t ammo, 3 MPL, TC IV, XL 325

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b9b669031b4b889

Very similar to my brawler. I really, really like this build. It's not the most bleeding edge optimized, but it's really nasty up close. I choose the same, just not the XL engine. (Hate XL Engines)

I'm going to post all 3 of mine (2 are very similar, 1 not so much) as they are designed to be easy to use if you know what chain fire is and work at most reasonable ranges (also with CW in mind).

HGN-IIC - n00bi's build
3 LPL, UAC 20 (4t ammo), 325XL, 21 DHS, 2 JJ, max armour. Heat - 1.28

HGN-IIC-C - n00bi's build
3 ERLL, 2 UAC 10 ( 4t ammo), 325XL, 18 DHS, 3 JJ, CAP, TC 1, max armour (-2). Heat - 1.17

This one is different, a LRM boat that isn't a waste of space if lrms are gone or pointless...
HGN-IIC-B - Elsa (slightly optimised from my actual, cheaper loadout)
4 LRM15 (9t ammo), UAC 10 (3t ammo), 2 ERLL, 280XL, 15 DHS, 2 JJ, CAP, max armour. Heat - 1.11

Yes, I called it Elsa because it quite likes the cold, open spaces... and it rains sparkles on people, sorry.. I have kids. :D

Okey, no lrms here, only normal weapons (people dont hate u so much), TK3 for increase crit chance for all weapons and velocity speed for uac10 (1092, uac5 have 1150), DHS on legs for increase dissipation, 5 ammo its enough for QP or FW.

I know it's a minor point, but aren't all these builds with front loaded armour bad for n00bs? Getting backed out is more likely with low skill and no unlocks, no?

2UAC10, 2LPL, 22DHS, XL325, 1JJ. About as new player friendly as a HGN-IIC can get.

In reality any rear armor amount from 4-10 doesn't really matter that much. A reasonably built medium mech, like a Stormcrow, can kill an unquirked 100 tonner with 2 back shots regardless of whether he has 4 or 20 rear armor. Basically if a player doesn't respond to the back shot, that buffer isn't worth anything.

HGN-IIC-C

325 XL, 2 UAC 10 with 5 tons of ammo, 3 ER-Med Laser, 2 SRM4 with 2 tons of ammo. Cap and TCI added, rest DHS because its pretty hot. Three JJ because Highlander Posted Image I choosed so "much" reararmor because new playes will get shot there.

Mine is a little different. 3 Medpuls, two SRM6(i think) and just one JJ. And maybe a TCII but i dont know exactly :I

My take is a little more simple and focused on sustained DPS. Fast mech with an optimal range <300m

Thank you for the reply. I know this sort of thing is standard for top level players, but most people aren't that good/experienced.

I'm by no means a pro, for all that I have played a long time, and I find a bit more than none rear armour useful, if nothing else to protect from the odd bit of team fire as you push in etc... and in the mess of the "grand melee", moving, twisting etc, always take fire all over.

And for mr n00b, with no skills, even if they respond quickly to a threat from the rear, they'll be far slower in the same mech as someone with mastery on their side, so will probably take more hits on the rear as they dance with whoever it is, no?

Either way, armour pips can be moved around I suppose before the loadout is finalised into the champ build? Or will they just put up the winning build as is post vote?

If you win me around here, I may have to change my armour loading. ;)

No idea if this would qualify as any of your Hero or Champion, but is the best I could do considering speed and all (sniper build + SRM) 21Heat and some jump capable:
