In reality any rear armor amount from 4-10 doesn't really matter that much. A reasonably built medium mech, like a Stormcrow, can kill an unquirked 100 tonner with 2 back shots regardless of whether he has 4 or 20 rear armor. Basically if a player doesn't respond to the back shot, that buffer isn't worth anything.
Thank you for the reply. I know this sort of thing is standard for top level players, but most people aren't that good/experienced.
I'm by no means a pro, for all that I have played a long time, and I find a bit more than none rear armour useful, if nothing else to protect from the odd bit of team fire as you push in etc... and in the mess of the "grand melee", moving, twisting etc, always take fire all over.
And for mr n00b, with no skills, even if they respond quickly to a threat from the rear, they'll be far slower in the same mech as someone with mastery on their side, so will probably take more hits on the rear as they dance with whoever it is, no?
Either way, armour pips can be moved around I suppose before the loadout is finalised into the champ build? Or will they just put up the winning build as is post vote?
If you win me around here, I may have to change my armour loading.
