Is the matchmaing fair ?
I doubt it
I cannot upload the screenshots but I can send them to every body who wants to see them
During my last match (on 07/12/2016)an ennemy kodiak 3 was killed. Then I san another one, and another one and another one. I tried to flee, but I bumped on a warhawk.
I our team we had "only" 1 kodiak 3, 1 Dire wolw, 1 battlemaster and one Stalker as assaults.
perhaps our tier was far more than our opponent ?
Two days before, I played a match where the oponent team was composed with 8 -MS- and 4 ORCS. (not the worst teams in MWO)
This times they got 5 assaults : 4 Highlanders and 1 warhawk and we had only 1, a warhawk.
This topic is not new, I played a match several months ago where the opponent Team had 7 assaults (2 battlemaster, 3 king crabs,1 awesome and 1 dire wolf). On our side we had... 0 assaults.
PGI, I know the matchmaking is a very difficult algorithm, but please do something because the fun of a match is to meet opponents that are a reasonnable challenge.
Bigger groups, better coordinated with huge difference of weigth, in assault. It is not funny to be crushed only because an algorithm chose to.
regards

Has nothing to do with the MM necessarily and more so to do with the fact that the Heavy and Assault queues have been jammed lately.
MM relaxes when this happens and yes you can get some very lopsided matches. Blame your peers, blame PGI but the MM did the best it could with what it had.

Also when in group queue, don't leave tonnage on the table.
Dropping with 2 people? Run 100 tonners.
If you leave any open tonnage you risk being light when the match happens.

I guess i should have asked this, Solo or group?
And yes dont leave tonnage on the table ever, the larger your group the more strapped you are for tonnage so use it.

You are right this happened in group drops.
By the way, I blamed PGI for the mm algorithm.
(as former developper, I know how tricky these algorithms can be, and algorithms only do what they were coded to do).
may be in a group you may have only 1/4 (rounded down) of a mech category (wirth weight limitation.
this has the limitation of not be able to play 2 assaults with a friend.
I have no clear idea on how perform a good MM algorithm for a game such mechwarrior
