I have seen a few vids now with mechs using the MW 2 sound files....

Could someone point me in the direction of anyone that may have posted those instructions and or where to get the files from?

I was going to use the search however.... its down (

Google the name Shivaxi. There should be a YouTube video. There is an MW3 one as well.

The community is fairly tight lipped about it because people are worried about PGI banning people for 'tampering with game files,' even though Russ or someone has specifically mentioned this is alright. He probably uses it himself.

They don't actually tamper with game files anyway, you just add some new ones to a folder that override original sounds.

Sound mods alter the file structure which is against the Tos.

However it was said many months ago by PGI they would not hunt down and ban people using modified sounds.
However if you don't intend to produce videos which link to your account..... You have no need to worry.
