Depends on the people, steam didn't introduce many more than it already had, its far less than other games I've played, which is possibly the only advantage to a low population.

Yes way more toxic. They keep telling everyone to say deacal instead of decal. Or maybe they want everyone to say desel? Or deasel? I don't know but they cant speak English very well.

I would say no, not at all. If there is, they are still deluded by the older players that they are a rarity. If you're experiencing far more toxicity, I would either guess it is bad luck or I'm extremely lucky.
We have to bear in mind that most online communities are absolutely horrible and we should be seriously grateful that the worst we get is the occasional jerk.
