with faction play falling flat on its face and forcing "top tier" players to play pug. what did the pug scene get? other than more meta noobs crying. and when you get these "top players" in game. they dont say anything at all in terms of strategy or tactics. they just stay quiet trying to do the most damage in their cheese builds.
lets be honest about these top tier players and clans... none of em are real FPS players... a lot of em are happy if the game stays a one button shoot em up.
how about we actually take PUG serious? and talk strat and tactic in game? im sure these teachings would transcend pug and flow over to other game modes.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have given this a real try and given up. There's no changing the pug que, it's the mess that it is. This applies to group que as well, with all the derpy 2-mans in their own world. It's just not worth trying. Go yolo until you happen across a good team that's willing to go yolo with you.

I can only repeat what I've said so often,...
IT WORKS.
If you use communication in a friendly and constructive manner. Your average PUG drop (and FP for that matter) will increase in fun level. Just don't start treating the PUGs badly (there are even players that use VOIP to herd PUGs as cannon fodder for their own stat improvements,... and still behave badly if they lose afterwards >.< ), call them names and swear because you lose,... **** happens,...
In essence, the better game experience begins with you.
Here an example (where my team got their hindsides kicked by PM)

If you expect people to be constructive, try practicing what you preach.

That guy's great!
Unfortunately I don't have the sort of charisma to pull that off. Most who try seem to fall upon deaf emo ears. Ever so often I'm fortunate enough to be on a pug team with somebody who's good at getting everyone to work together. A couple of times it was a girl orchestrating the team via the VOIP. Girls have a certain charisma all their own when it comes to a bunch of hard-up guys playing a PC game in their mom's basement..

How about starting from yourself? All I have seen from my matches against you are your complaints about teammates and your showing of mediocre scores. Lack of ability aside, less toxic behavior is a good start.

I have noticed that if someone does have a mic most of the time us speechless pugs in T4 will develop a sheep mentality and follow orders. Even if they are bad it still amazes me how easily ppl will follow one man simply because we can hear his voice.
Ig what im saying is pugs pick up on how to do standard things. However i agree with OP talking tacts and strat in game does help new players vastly. One guy with a mic can help and teach them noobs alot. I think simply because its much simpler to follow than trying to type out what you want ppl to do.

One can only yell and scream and try to motivate a brick wall so many times before you realize how futile it is...

The faction/team guys fought long and hard to not split the ques because they profited from trashing new players with their Synch dropping and general meta trash destruction.
I always hoped both camps could coexist with the team guys going their way and pugs going theirs but there was to be none of that. The team players felt that solo was there's to farm whenever they wanted and made sure we knew it with their steering wheel underhive type of insults every chance they got.
We forgot this is a game and the object is to have fun and instead forced everyone into the competition mode. That pretty much ruined it for a lot of people who don't want to chase power creep and meta.
I remember when it was really fun to play and there was actually a lot more fighting and you could have a blast in a match without having to win. Of course the fight is much more important to me than winning at all costs. Its a game after all.

Dude, I've been on a MWO binge. Someone else pointed out that I have well over 400 drops in my lights since re-scale. I don't know how to look that crap up but I bet I've got you beat in # of drops. Which doesn't really matter anyway, it's not like the game has changed much in the last few years. Try again.
