Hi,
In my opinion the part of FP related to planets and IS conquer is totally irrelevant. PGI should go back to the drawing board about that part and take inspiration by leagues that made MW4 so successful and long lived. Take your time and do it right.
The FP game mode could be parked in the normal pug and group queues like other vote-able game modes, it would be the IS vs Clans mode, hardly anybody would notice the difference and we would enjoy shorter queue times.
Just IMHO.
regards

Fp, Is It Really Required?

That this is true, is a perfect illustration of how & why CW/FP is critically flawed at the design stage.
(Just make it a quick play, nobody would know the difference!)

I doubt that the MW4 leagues made MW4 so "successful"
reason:
I doubt the majority was laying those leagues
Wouldn't have taken ages for successor game if it were THAT successful.
Those leagues were for a ver yloyal yet small palyerbase what made MW4 successful for them. But when you have to pay constant salary and servers I doubt this model would be enough to gain revenue. So PGI has to cater a lot more players and playstyles than those few tourbament interested ones.

I think FP was PGI's way of fulfilling a promise that they made earlier-on in the game development but there was really no passion in doing the job. You can feel it in all the ways that FP isn't polished and just lacks depth. FP really gives you the sense that PGI's design teams true passion for the game lies somewhere else.... at this point I think its Poki "Would-you-like-to-buy-a-mech-pack" mon.

Piss on the no-depth NGNG "solution" to gut FP.
Give us alliances.
Let us have an alliance chat tab.
Let us make FP groups with alliance members and freelancers.
Piss right the Flea on the NGNG crap-lution.

i kind of think the planets should go, the leaderboard should really be where victory tags go. why should only unit player get rewarded for planet captures. and those buckets!
setup 2-4 faction alliances, all alliances at war. the original 10 factions remain but several are grouped into an alliance, and the individual factions within an alliance are in a friendly competition with eachother for scores.
minimalistic matchmaker that only cares about group type. it would try to match units with units and pugs with pugs before feeding pugs to units. it doesn't care about tonnage, psr or any of that bs. every unit has one lobby. who you fight, where you fight, and what mode you fight are all random.
participation quotas, minimum number of games per phase you need to play to get base rewards, participate a lot and get more rewards. this is to boost active population.
victory pay, win a certain number of victories in a phase, get victory rewards (better than participation rewards). available to everybody not just unit players. equivalent to planet capture.
map is really just a score gauge that shows how well each faction alliance is doing.
