No ****. I'll have to dust 'em off and see for myself.

The Prime is still annoying but 5ERML on all the rest except 5SPL on the D. Solid.

That is some powerful quirkening, but I am confused about the seemingly arbitrary, "This one gets slightly less, this one gets slightly more."

I mean, did they playtest it a little and say, "ah, this one feels like it only needs 35% while this one needs 60%. These are not arbitrary numbers."?

From what I've heard, the Quirk master isn't Paul but rather their former IT guy. Don't know how true that is.

It's arbitrary. PGI doesn't use statistics for balancing or setting pricing... or at all really as far as I can tell.

I feel so vindicated. I correctly predicted the Phoenix Hawk would be garbage and Viper would have great quirks.

Nobody wants something they can't kill with large lasers or LPLs. Yes yes, people go on about wanting to make other weapon systems effective, just as long as they don't actually have to use them.

Or arm mounted weapons... or streaks...

It's like folks just want me to die if they look in my general direction with their torso mounted weapons...

Now I really wish I'd been playing the game when the pre-order was available for the Viper. It's always been one of my favourite 'mechs in the TT and technical books, but I generally think it's a bad idea to buy a set of standard mechs once the pre-order has run out. This is tempting me, though... I might have to have a word with debit card...

At this point you may as well wait until it goes live to get the general consensus on the thing.

Our Grand Balancer Paul was on "hiatus" (after the 2.0 CERLL debacle) so that guy (still on PGI's staff) was supposedly responsible for the quirks for poor Clan mechs like the Summoner... for a time.

Yeah the success of banishing Paul to the NEGATIVE ZONE by the other members of the PGI staff was short lived. He found a way back to our dimension somehow.

Sigh...

God damnit. Thanks Kodiak. Now apparently every Clan mech is going to come quirked.

With a bunch of these agility quirked terrors running rampant out in the field upon release the games are going to be so helter skelter.

There's no structure quirks if you can hit the dang things. Better go for those legs or climb aboard your STREAK Crows.

Because brawling is for suckers.

Unless you get killed by a brawler with mani mani mani tiny deathlasers in no time flat which are only useful in massive quanities and only on lesser mechs.

Then it's op.

After all no upstanding heavy or assault pilot would use a sm pulse laser.

It's a trendy thing. Just like mechs you know that'll be bad, and will stay bad for the foreseeable future (Vindicator, Archer, etc).

It's ******** like this that makes me glad MRBC has a c-bill availability requirement for a chassis to be legal.

Those quirks combine with Clan Tech to create a Mech that is BJ-1X circa Quirk Pass 2 levels of powerful. Possibly more due to speed and JJs. I thought that wasn't allowed...

well now everyone can lobby hard for better hardpoints and quirks on all those Is hero's that were deliberately under quirked and weaponised to stop the P2W cries.

Didn't work, but they tried lol

Now medium mechs start to get obscence mobility quirks like heavies. Ironically the class which is all about it, light mechs, get whooping around 0-15% max. quirks in this department.

Meh. The quirks are just perfect.
I would tweak mobility even further.

What this mech should not have for sure, is the structure and armor. And thankfully it doesnt.

Choo choo Ice ferret has been beaten down. Viper will now take its place as the better fast clan medium.

Also, it's got laser range quirks on the hero!!!

Power Creep at its finest.

Thanks PGI, i guess my initial Triple Wave purchase just wasn't enough for ya. Now that we are making all those mech irrelevant with the new one i guess you expect more money out of me.

I'm done spending money on this game for the most part so i guess i should just stop playing for a few months until the Power Creep mechs come out for Cbills. Not having the latest p2wfaw (pay 2 win for a while) Assault has put me at a disadvantage may haps end up being the case with this medium as well.

At least the NVA is good. Just about the only Wave One mech worth taking these days.

touche PGi, touche. Cant have us still being viable in 2 year old mech now can you.
