besides the lack of light mechs like ever, this is awesome. Soooo many medium mechs make the game so much more fun right now. This really feels like battletech, the main forces aren't assaults and heavies, the workhorses are the meds and we finally see them in numbers.

I had some matches with 6 meds each side, we were mobile and still had firepower, we could flank and use some tactics without getting into nascar, that was great!

I really like this event. Not for the gifts, had those within 5 matches or so but just for the match compositions Posted Image

Whenever the Que is weighted more towards medium mechs, the games always felt more fun. Heavy mechs don't feel like heavy mechs, when everyone is in one. The battlefield always felt more fluid when medium mechs are more common.

I found this so amusing that i have to reply to it.

Games use hex squares to have "more directions than with normal squares" at the cost of overly complicating things (you can't properly have cardinal orientation, etc.)
It becomes especially idiotic if you consider that is has LESS directions than squares with diagonal movement and a little pathing logic do.

Hex squares for games because of their directions are some of the dumbest things on earth.

You really miss them? ^^

This is the merit to mediums.
I lol'd so hard in the drops before work, at the QQing about the team being spread out, because welll mediums close the gaps in seconds and can flank..

Then of course I spoiled my good mood by reading the patch notes
