I've been very happy with MWO, little bit annoyed at the upcoming patch notes though.
I've just spent actual cash on the Locust Mastery pack only to now see the mech being hit by a series of nerfs.
If I'd received a warning or notice of this I'd have spent the money elsewhere (still on MWO, just not on the Locust).
So I have a question, what are you going to do about this? A refund would suffice as a suggestion.
By doing this, you've turned a happy paying customer into one that isn't happy. I was going to buy the Kodiak and Marauder as well. Not anymore. (Check my account, I have a number of preorders already).
The whole point of this is that you could have avoided this I feel with better communication of up coming changes. (I've not checked the forum. as in you may have done this already, but I rarely check the forum, so if that's the method you're usingto update people . It needs to change.)
I'm happy to pay for stuff, I enjoy the game and am happy to pay for things i enjoy. I've stopped playing other games for reasons like this though.
Easy to fix and easy to avoid. I hope you all learn from this.

Never buy before patches unless you're prepared for a nerfing and do not care.

Online-shooter, stuff changes.
A couple o' patches down the road the locust might be the ultimate meta-fighter, or it might re-disappear into obscurity like before the re-scale. Maybe the commando gets its 15minutes in the spotlight...you never know.
If you want a refund you need to contact PGI via e-mail (click on the big fat SUPPORT-button at the top).

To be fair, given the lack of quirks to the IIC mechs, most kodiak buyers ordered them expecting zero quirks at all. About half the clan omnis have no quirks or very minor ones as well so again, you order expecting the worst...and when you get it, you're not disappointed as they're delivering exactly what you expected. The locusts and catapults got smaller last patch, they uniformly should have lost structure/armor quirks but unfortunately they forgot to do so at the time (I believe they only applied it to one catapult model). Probably also because they were releasing a new catapult hero model and rather than releasing it with some set quirks, they gave it too good quirks and then nerfed it a month later after sales have peaked.
Is it bait and switch ? Yep. Does it happen in other MMO video games ? Yep. All the time. Overwatch has been in open release for only two months and they've already been swinging the nerf hammer and buff feather duster on various characters. And you should read their forums...look like ours...players complaining about characters being OP, unviable, etc... I just looked at their general board and there were threads on the main page by different players complaining the same character needed buffing or nerfing.

You are right @Seraph6.
Totally and utterly right IMO.
You made a purchase base on specific stats of a product.
You bought it and used it as intended.
And then PGI changed them.
I suggest you follow @Ironwithin suggestion
You really need to hit that support button and write them and ask for your refund.
Keep all correspondence with screen shots and copies.
See if they refund it.
It should be illegal to sell one thing and change it to another any time after you purchase it.
But it is most likely hidden in the ULA that we never read.(Centipad anyone?)
Complain to your local MP about this business practice it if you live in Canada.
Make sure it gets out there that this is happening and that some sort of legislation should be put in place to watch dog these online software companies that SELL one thing and change it a few months later.
We need a watch dog to safeguard the consumer.
People that say it happens and is okay. What are you thinking?
Why would you allow your money to be taken from you without you getting the thing you purchased and keeping it?
Yes sir I know you bought a Porch 911, but you got to drive it for 3 months. and here is your 1970 VW Beetle. It is for the good of the company you take this. Now move along.
I play a few other games online and this does not happen to me. So I would like to know what comparable bait and switch happens in other games that real money was in the mix. Not in game grinable currency.
Why does PGI not refund or allow a repurchase based on money spend on account with the sweeping changes they keep making?
Are they still in Beta?
Over Watch changing stats. after 2 months of play. Yes that is true. But you don't spend real money to get said character.
They are all playable right off the hop.
They are there for you to play as you see fit You don't pay 40 dollars for Character A, as a sniper and then have Character A totally change.
IMO is so the NEWEST MECH for sale with real dollars, is more appealing until the next new one comes out.
I stopped spending real world money with PGI after my Thor got nerf'd, then my firestarter(wow did it change), then my locust, spider, ....You get what I am saying. Today it is my Marauder and Kodiak.(one was a gift the other I won).
Spend Money on Mech bays, grind the rest and perhaps spend money on a subscription in January when it is half off. It pays off in Cbills if you play enough.
Based on PGI's past practice.
Buying any new mech or mech pack with real money and getting attached to it is not worth the aggravation.
They will change my friend. A sad but true fact.
