Why that Cat nerf? They already had a glass jaw after the last nerf. I had to drop all the XL from all builds just to remain somewhat competitive. And even then I was pushing it. Now a single guass rifle slug will blow the cat clear into MW6. Thanks for the consideration Russ. Yeah, these things were so OP! It was ruining the game! Posted Image

Nerfing Catapult structure quirks does not increase TTK.

The majority of the nerfs in this patch were durability and agility. If anything, that reduces the TTK.

So agility and structure buffs make some mechs last longer than others. If you want to increase ttk by adding structure and mobility then just buff mobility and structure by X% across the board.

When some mechs have structure and mobility buffs over other Mechs what you have is some mechs who can stay exposed to get a kill longer than someone else.

Make sense? If you have 12 more structure than the Rifleman you're fighting you can just staredown and kill him. If you don't you'll need to play it different and more careful.

So while the Catapult dies faster the Rifleman and Jag he would have killed because of more structure on the Cat will live longer.

Make sense? So by pulling mech survivability to a middle point you decrease the ability of top performers to exploit low performers.

If you want to drag the median up then do so. However quirking some up from others just creates a disparity. That hurts TTK overall.

If the unbuffered Rifleman is too fragile but the Cat is the because it's got 40 pts of extra structure then you're just hiding the problems that make the Rifleman too fragile.
