I am not kidding. This tier system is pure nonsense.
So you play FP, you get tired of stomps, one way or the other, so you follow the try hards suggestions and go quick play.
You go quick play to mess around with builds and mechs, and everyone is a dam srm fireball, or a 12 laser vomit blackjack.

In drag racing, there is top fuel, funny car, ethanol, stock, pro stock, and so on ...

Make it a clickable option: pro try hard mofo, or goof ball pro team mascot ...

So all the l33t players can choose "Noob mode" and Seal Club?

Yeah, no thanks.

Not a bad idea actually, making an initial T6 I mean.

But with restrictions:
1) no CW/FP
2) no teams/groups, not even LFG
3) once you leave you cannot return there
4) No leaderboard

Solo-Q is already default easy-mode. If you can't handle it, too bad. :P

I think they should narrow the tier cross over. Instead of t3's dropping with 4 and 5 make it just 4 and five and the same for tier 1 and 2. As a three I should not ever see 5 or 1s in my matches.

But the population is so bad now that would not be possible. As it is in most of my quick play I see mostly 1s and 2 now. Then occasionally I am clubbing seals. That sucks either way, When this all started for maybe a week the matches were really good and I was fighting on my level with very few stomps either way. Been downhill ever since then.

It would btw nice if you could lock a tier before you leave it, say locking turns off stat gains. I don't play enough myself. I think i actually play best in t5. Loaded a new account to try a ftp summoner (tbf it does play best like an enforcer on steroids, so a 70 ton-50 tonner...) and my single t5 match.... I was one of the best players in a (c)adder of all things. Maybe out was seal club syndrome cause the next match In (3/4)t4... Eh, win some, lose a lot. Honestly i do probably suck, i get a few Good matches but tend to be tweaking Mechs so maybe if i only had one or two I'd perform better due to lack of jumping around Mechs instead of specalization of a single chassis... I don't know. I got a kill in a stock urbie at least XD.
Anyway most of the time it feels like I'm not skilled enough for supposed t1 play, but i hope for the game so I'll uninstall when everyone else has, not before.
I'm pyramiding my stuff when i go :3. Wrap my Mechs in cloth and pull their battle coms Out their forward vents with a hook. A chrome laser hook, cause it's the future :3

Let you have the req to leave on 1000kills. At least then people could legit practice before going back to the wolves

Side note: my dual gauss catapract 4x actually is fine with shs and a 250xl. Probably worst gaussboat but i like it :D

Do we need seal clubbing pads in the halls of Tier 6?

I'm waiting for rainbows to appear where unicorns roam... so I can collect me pot o' gold.

I found the secret to tier 7 just play a 9m awesome with 3 er ppc. and you can be teir 7 forever.

Or don't play meta builds. Or take the game seriously. Or get bothered when you only get 1 kill and do 120 damage. Or just play builds you find fun and not the ones metamechs dot com tell you to play. This game is a lot more fun when you drop with friends and just stop caring.

Or just play some other game, really. Evolve with a few buddies is quite fun.

Yeah, no thanks.

Give the game a true Solaris mode with 1v1, 2v2, and 4v4 divisions, along with better spectating tools and decent prizes, and watch how many "1337 players" truly care about seal clubbing.

There's plenty of T2s for T1s to play with. Everyone floats to the top, the turds and the cream alike in the current system.

If anything, I expect T5's to have it worst: worst players, furthest away from the churning pool of higher tiers.

Actually, not a bad idea.

The way Warthunder does it, they rank the plane/tank. There are several teirs of vehicles and the match determines an average rank for the vehicles chosen by the player and drops them into a match with everyone at around the same rank.

Example - Pick "teir 1" mechs, and you get put into a match where everyone is in one of those mechs that is considered "teir 1". There could be some kind of PSR check within that does another level of sorting, but the mechs in general get faced off vs each other.

If someone takes a Vindicator, they're not going to get matched with the Nova's/StormCrows, they'll be put together with the PhoenixHawks, Kintaros, Ice Ferrets.

One of these queue choices would be "open quickplay" where anything goes, all the ranks are together, but allow bracketed play by lumping together mechs that are competitive relative to each other.

This makes sense for War Thunder because you cannot quirk a spitfire w/ 8MGs down enough, or quirk a bi-plane with 2 MGs up enough, for them to be on an even footing. That is what PGI is doing here. Trying to make mechs that are just better, be equal to other mechs, because having a mech that is just "better" is somehow bad, because players will just select that mech.

So split the queue by mech teirs already. You don't race Formula 1 cars vs Nascars or 4v4 trucks. Clearly this game does have classes of mechs, and by that I don't mean weight classes, but I mean performance classes. Stop trying to quirk everything into an even field when it can't be done.

Queueing by chassis tiering would also allow you to cheerfully chuck the entire "Clan = IS" thing in the toilet where it belongs.

Of course, there's FW.

In past MW games online, you dropped into teams based on whatever mechs they had. Why can't this match up be the same with skill? Put 4 high ranked players on each team and so on. If no one is to match those skills, go for the next skill level. Ez pz

The seal clubbing still goes on in Tier 1. I know. I do it all the time. But not much fun when they don't put up a fight.

I quit playing before this "tier" mess was implemented, came back and it says im Tier 4, is this good or bad? It hasnt gone up or down since I started playing again xD

What tiers exist? Is Tier 1 the most skilled?

Tier is more "games played" than "skill level", but starting tier is based on your old games. T5 is the bottom, T1 the top, so you're currently in the seal pool vs. the shark tank.

Everyone ends up moving up, so given any decent ability you'll be inT3 -> T2 pretty darn quick, which is a mess of good and bad players at this point.

A 3025 Tech-queue would be nice.
