as i was walking up the stairs to the C4 center mesa, from the right side heading away from the carapace and suddenly i found myself teleported to the low swamp zone on the other side of the carapace.

That is more likely to be server lag or user ping to the server. The "teleport" is referred to is rubberbanding; there's no real way to fix it. It happens in any server based online game.
