So that tier 1s never end up with tier 4s for example (or vice versa) ? I ask because I just had a quick play game with a belligerent Tier 1 barking orders like he was in faction warfare.

Nope. It makes sure tier 5 never fights tier 1, apart fromt hat ... the longer the search the bigger the f-up.

Well having looked him on the forums, his profile says Tier 1... and he's on KCom's Americas world champ team... ORDERED the team to ignore the caps (conquest, on mining colony) and charge the center to deathball...unfortunately some of the sheep followed him while the people like me who KNEW you need 750 cap points to win (his QP leaderboard shows like seventy games only) for like three patches now went for the actual game mode goal...and he kept barking orders and insulting those of us doing that... and this is in solo queue btw. There was no group of Kcom'ers...it was just him.

So report him for abusive language.
But seriously ... if you're that shocked about some bridge-troll burping out insanities over chat/voip the internet might not be the right place for your gentle soul.

Mining Colony is small enough that you can ignore the caps at the start while the enemy is capping you deathball slaughter as many as you can then spread out and cap, it's a very viable tactic on the map, as long as the team all works together.

Yes, that's should be the way to play conquest on Mining Colony or any small maps.
Always go for red team's main force quickly and secure the caps later.
Through the abusiveness isn't called for, I guess there isn't much choices when trying to get pugs to fight as a team.
