Basic Decal Review

-Visible sizing information/dimensions on the side so we can make multiple logos the same size on different parts of the mech OR some form of copy feature for the next decal slot.
-A shade slider for the decals that can't have their colour changed. I find them too bright. A shader will help them fit with the camo on a mech and not look so artificial.

Is this a review of the Decals, or are we analyzing the actual system, I'm a tad confused? (Or both?)

A review of what needs to be changed. Both I guess.
I find the images rather lackluster. Exceptionally lackluster. Their approach of WOW out of the gate with additions later has always been "meh" out of the gate and a little more later.
If they have hundreds more ready to come down the pipe, hundreds more at launch would be nice unless they are doing it strategically. A minimal amount. Get people to buy them up. Want more. Launch another hundred. Have people digest that.

They DO show up in the mech select screen right out of the gate. I'll give them that.

I really want an option to make the decal I place on say left arm be symmetrically (spelled right?) copied to the right arm aswell. Its and OCD and time consuming nitpick trap to try to adjust a new one of the same decal, exactly right on the ooposite side/ limb/ torso of the mech

That first one threw me for a loop for a bit because I read that as not allowing multiple logos from the same faction on a mech, but what you're actually saying is not allowing logos from more than one faction on the same mech, which I agree kinda defeats the point.
I'd say in Quick Match or Play or whatever they're calling it these days anything goes, because let's face it, it's a melting pot of mechs anyway, but in FW you should be restricted to whatever faction you're signed on with.

- letters
- basic geometry elements like bars and circles, which you can use to create your own shapes
That was the stuff I was looking forward to. Although we'd then run into problems with people spelling dirty words with either the letters or in 1337speak.

Because in reality I do not know how something so sensitive as a Gauss rifle would work with paint down it's barrel or how a pilot would see if you painted literally the whole cockpit.
That's my biggest gripe.

Why would they do that? Even from a lore perspective its not terribly uncommon to have more than 1 unit logo on a mech. what gave you this impression

Yep, you can quite see a pair of decals, 1 set to say "Hi, I'm Davion!" another saying "Hey, I am from The Kell Hounds!".
However not as often you see Smoke Jaguar and Kurita insignias on the same mech... or liao and stiener....
