If I get two of the same mech variant will they have the same experience? If I already have one, and I buy a mech pack which includes a duplicate what happens to it? And if I sell a mech and buy it back later does it have the same experience xp from where I left it off?

thanks much in advance,
Ed

For the purposes of XP and pilot trees they might as well be one mech. You don't lose the xp if you sell and rebuy either.

Identical mech is identical.
If you buy a Ford Focus 2004 model... then get another Ford Focus 2004.
You won't be able to tell me you have any experience in how different a Ford Focus 2015 model is.

Similarly, lets say you become a tank pilot. You get assigned to an M1A1 Abrams tank.
Then assigned to another M1A1 Abrams tank of identical design.
Would you gain any new insight to how it works compared to the technologically superior M1A2 Abrams tank?

The answer, is, of course, no.

There's one slot for each variant's skill tree.
An identical mech variant, or another version of the same mech variant... doesn't make it a different mech variant.
One slot one number.

Be warned, you cannot unlock mech skill levels once they are sold even if you have enough GXP to do so. It is inadvisable to sell a mech until you have unlocked all elite skills. In most cases as you usually do not see the full potential of a mech until this is done.

Yes, they do.

Its quirks include a +300% increase in badassery.
+50% ramming power.
+15% cockpit protection.
-10% acceleration
-10% decelleration
-5% turning speed.

Sadly the hero is produced by Honda, not Ford.

Here is a semi-interesting fact. When you use a Trial Mech it gains XP that you can use on it if you ever buy it.

This can be exploited thus: Say you want an Atlas D-DC and Atlas S and don't care about any of the others. You can play an AS7-RS(C) trial mech until you have enough XP to basic it, buy the AS7-RS, apply the XP and then sell the AS7-RS. This saves you needing to pay Upgrade Taxes ™ on a variant you don't care about if it's the trial. This isn't widely applicable, but there are a few spots where it's useful. Happily, recent champions tend to be solid builds on good variants.
