I was watching this vid:

So, in the lore and story of mechwarrior, could the hellbringer (mech that i dicided to farm from and buy some camos) be obsolete to new releases like the LOKI MKII?

Generally speaking, the mechs that are threatened with obsolescence in the new era are probably already obsolete to some extent.

New tech doesn't change the mechanics or how the game plays

It will either make old things obsolete, so they are the new thing (without any mechanic changes), or they are worse and nothing at all changes.
Top tier stuff is still top tier.

There's a lot of obsolete stuff right now that may be saved, actually, if the rumored hard point pass actually goes through.

Beyond that, IS side, I'm actually not worried about new mechs obsoleting old ones. It's the skill tree obliterating most (But not all) of the quirks I'm worried about. There's quite a few chassis hanging on by their fingernails because of a few quirks, but once everyone can skill them, without some other benefit, they'll die hard.

Unless they bar the most effective designs from using new tech, the top tier mechs will still be top tier. It really just comes down to hard point location and hitboxes.

Edit: Actually I'm kinda wondering if MRMs get introduced, combined LFEs, will my Loyalty Wolverine be more capable? It has high mounts for missiles. But with only 2 slots it gets outpaced by better brawlers.

Most IS mechs are gonna be pretty obsolete if the new skill tree works for both factions just the same. My meta Clan mechs are gonna get a lot of benefits from the new tree, such as CUAC jam reduction, CERPPC heat reduction, Clan laser duration reduction, etc...
