60 cents. You get to choose before you buy from what I understand.

BUT if you are looking for reason to whine talk to my ex wife - she will understand. (that felt really good thank you)

At least in TF2 the stuff you'd get for unboxing was objectively good if you didn't have it already.

2xLRM15 = 700,000 C-Bills.

AC5 = 250,000 C-Bills.

BAP = 400,000 C-Bills.

MDD omnipod = 296,821 C-Bills.

Plus the 50,000 C-Bills you won, and the total worth of your 125 MC in C-Bills amounts to 1,696,821 C-Bills. For only about 50 cents. Even if you sell all of them you still get 848,410 C-Bills, which is a great deal in terms of MC to C-Bill ratio.

Supply cache is the fastest way to earn C-Bills for those who need it and have few dollars (literally 2-3 dollars) to spare. For those who have everything, there is no point. Therefore I personally recommend opening supply cache to newbies who need a leg up in the C-Bill department. And once in a while, the newbie will get lucky and get a full mech.

Especially when you consider that PGI sells 1,100,000 C-Bills for whooping 800 MC!

I got 1 cashe and figured I'd give it a go. Got 100,000 CB and was only a fraction off getting a Vindicator.

I think you got the better deal then, hahaha

(This is a joke, i realize that you can sell the Vindicators for more than that.)

**** that is hilarious.

PGI, have a look at this video from Valve monetization team for Dota and Team Fortress.
They had a system like this and they say it "created more negative feedback than anything else they ever tried".

https://youtu.be/RHC-uGDbu7s?t=12m46s

It's not a good monetization strategy because it heavily impacts customer happiness.

I feel like the whole "c-bill/mc" metric is not a legit comparison, because you are locked in on the amounts of MC you can buy. You can't purchase $1-2 of mc... the amounts are set. You can't purchase 25 or 800, or even 1000 mc... those amounts are set.

What El Bandito said

Those items are better value to sell them individually than selling the caches themselves

If you have the MC to spare of course
People know they can sell stuff they don't need ingame right?
Like single heatsinks and so on

Thats true only for the first week new crate series is introduced after that demand for new stuff drops to zero unless you unbox a very rare item (chance is less then 1%) and with key price of single TF2 key 2,5$ i cant recommend unboxing in TF2.

Yup. I bought 10 keys for the hell of it. I'm now a proud owner of a NARC. It's actually a pretty cheap way to reduce grind, though I probably won't be buying more keys.

Even if you ignore the system, and just sell the crates unopened, your average c-bill earnings per match just went up by 50,000/24 = 2083 c-bills.

That is VERY true, but I can earn C-Bills for free, so spending 25MC for C-Bills seems unnecessary. I'd rather sell the key for far less C-Bills, than spend real money to get a chance at selling an item for more C-Bills.

I'd rather the caches have more MC only items in the rotation. At least if I thought 1 out of 3 keys might get me an MC only item (color, camo, cockpit item, etc...), then I might be more inclined to participate. Opening 5 crates in a row just to win a regular C-Bill item each time feels like a bit of a waste.

Maybe once the camos and colors are added to the crates, I might feel it is more worth it to try. Maybe the odds will be better at that point. Who knows.

As it is now though, I don't find the supply crates tempting.

So your telling us PGI had access to this information and still did what the vid says was the biggest mistake for them.

So PGI. all wrong even if they know better.

this is a free to play game..

The entire business model is based off of annoying your customers until they pay you to stop annoying them for a little while.

Umm NO. Sorry wallet still closed PGI. Nice try but how about some new maps, a working CW, new game modes, fixed ghost heat........
