Got 3 during the event, 1 for winning and 2 for the reward. Also got 1 key, and bought 2 more. Ended up with some 200k or so c-bills and 50 MC, so win-win.

I am pretty sure they are not. I think it is probably like the boxes for Star Trek Online. The chances to win a mech are probably like .01 % while the chances of wining the small laser are like 94%

The odds on any particular item are clearly not even based on observations posted, no. Nor should they be. Keep collecting data.

I don't get why these can't just be free, or opened with c-bills at the least. They dangle large prizes in the hope people funnel money into the system. If they are going to charge MC for this, they should change the items in the list. Decals, decorative items, colors, and paint schemes as the lower prizes. Standard mech + mechbay as a high end prize. Maybe throw in the occasional Hero mech as very rare prize.

This didn't exist before the patch. Now it's there in ADDITION to what you had before.

It's a free 50,000 C-Bills Bonus every time you get a cache (though somewhat rare).

Be happy for the BONUS people.

My suggestion to those who don't think it's worth opening the caches is to save all that have decent battlemechs and large MC prizes and sell the rest. Chances are that events are going to have some keys thrown in there from now on to promote the new cache system. Use only free keys to open the best boxes. Whatever you get is a bonus and at least you have a shot at the better prizes.

I have opened three myself and received nothing but weaponry. My luck sucks though so I was not that surprised.

People need to get realistic:

1250 MC = 50 Keys = 6,95$

1 Key = 14 Cent

What do you expect PGI to give you for 14 cent? A mechbay on each cache?

It is a little lottery with a very small stake where you always win something, but some people here ***** about it as if PGI wants them to gamble away their house, car and wife.

Got a mech bay yesterday...
out of the 3 ive opened got a large laser, a 10 pack of priority air strikes and a mech bay.
I would say been worth the 75mc, but been lucky thus far.

I won a ERPPC and three Keys in two separate caches. I actually think they did these things really well, the keys are really (compared to other games) really cheap, the rewards are pretty good (provided that your smart enough to use the keys on good supply crates), and even if your not keen on gambling then hey, free c-bills!
