Still works fine, just run 10s and 5s.

If you've got the skills to run goose and erppcs it's a stone cold killer with no real peer in game.

4x10s was always an insane outlier. The only thing that offset it before is the Dire is a horribly gimped mech. Kodiak is best overall assault chassis blessed with the best of all design mechanics.

Most of us closed our wallets for various reasons and problems. If yours closes because this one specific clownshoes silly OP build got brought into line with every top tier loadout in game....

...and I'm talking about your ignorance that ghost heat of 15 applied to both 4xcuac10 and 2xcuac20 is abolutely fair according to you.

Yeah. Absolutely. I'm tempted to say dial the 20s down a *little* but not much. 80 pts over ~1 or 1.5 seconds is pretty insane. It's more damage than 8 cermls. So at similar burn duration and range that would be 9 IS LLs. 45 tons of weapons. What would the ghost heat on 9 is LLs be for the same 80 pts over 1 second at 450m?

It was way out of scope for damage vs heat. Lasers being hitscan are more accurate and so will be hotter. Should be. However not orders of magnitude hotter.

Huge boated ACs are hot. IS acs can't double tap, save the uac5 which has comparable ghost heat.

Uac10s are faster and better range plus are small enough to be boated in bigger numbers. That's why EBJS and tbrs run 2xuac10 and 2 or 3 cermls instead of 1 uac20 and more lasers for the same theoretical alpha.

So here we have a player who was so set in their ways that they can't see the bigger picture.... *sigh*

The Kodiak is far from "worthless". The quad UAC 10 was simply too much. It could chew through any mech within seconds. Not a good thing.

Now wipe away your tears and get back in the mech lab. Besides, mechs with only one type of weapon are boring. Very boring. Challenge thyself!

I'm of the opinion that any mech should be able to inflict at least 80dmg whether in 1 salvo or multiple salvos before heat buildup becomes undaunting.

You absolutely can. You can do over 160 without heat issues - just wait 0.5 seconds between salvos.

Or do 2x5 2x10 and just mash like crazy until they jam up and either a bigger engine or 4x cermls and more DHS.

My 4xCUAC-10 Kodiak still plays exactly the same as before....Double tap left, Double tap right (now that the double tap incurring ghost heat has been fixed).

I can kinda understand where he's coming from, having PGI nerf the crap out of your favorite 'mech and call it a "bugfix" is utterly infuriating. A bug isn't "there was a 1, now there's a 15".

Yes. It was an error. It was never supposed to be a 1 but a 15. Just that since only the Dire used it and only occassionally it didn't get caught before.
