So just a quick question.....

Did they reduce the Save times by increasing the "Connecting" Times to the Mech Lab?

OMG my connect time has increased.

Or just me?

I just logged on and there seems to be slight increase on connecting time. Still worth it though if that means I can save loadouts in a dime.

Interesting... mine is more than a slight increase.... more like 15 to 20 seconds.

I don't keep time so I can't say exact difference.

Thought it would only be me, but i hope this is just a temporary thing, because it is quite a time to connect.

pretty much the same here! I would rather wait 2min for the save once in a while than those 15sec after every game...
Lets hope it is some server side thing that can be fixed without going back to long saving time.

Only reason I can tell the exact time is I record all my matches with Shadowplay..... the comparisons pre and post patch is extremely revealing.

things like coming back after a match and logging in still take forever. i guess the server has to pass your entire inventory manifest over the network each time you log in, or after returning from a game or when it feels like it. its not a huge amount of data, just what you own, how many, build configs, etc. but because a lot of users and a lot of traffic moving data back and fourth means its slow.

seems it would be better to cache it locally and then use hash varification for the server to authenticate the content. if authenticated, it can be used instead of a fresh copy from the server. otherwise 'connecting...'. when something changes it is applied to both the local copy and the server side copy as well. the hashes are then re-verified and if everything checks out, you instaload as if nothing happened.

You should write it in the patch feedback forum. PGI might take notice.

I played a bit for the first time in a while, and it was not uncommon for me to stare at the spinning wheel connecting screen after a match for 40-50 seconds. I thought the 20 seconds it used to take was annoying...

I do like the quick saving of loadouts, but I don't usually change mech loadouts very much at all after I settle on a build I like.

Only if you play more often than changing your loadoutPosted Image

Edited some sense in my post.

Wouldn't it be the other way around? The matches I play are far more numerous than the times I save loadouts so this would have a drastic increase to my total idle time.

As El Bandito said, this is probably something they did not notice, and is an unintended consequence to the save, please let either support know in an email, or write it in the feedback topic. There have already been one or two other things they have had to start looking into.

I've noticed this as well. But for me it's been more stable than before, often I get disconnected while connecting to the hangar, it's only happened once since the patch.

Edit: no, it's still unstable for me... :(

I have noticed connecting times seems to be longer, guessing it is likely checking everything you own then populating the mechlab that way instead of saving what you have before you normally exit and having it sit as a file on your computer which it only then checks to make certain the mech(s) you are launching with you actually have and when you rejoin checking if you have a mech in a match somewhere. Or something like that. Because yeah I have long load times and some 45 or so mechs and who knows how much equipment, omnipods, and everything else in my inventory.

same here ONeill.

I dont rebuild or tinker much with my mechs anyway. This "feature" has increased my average wait times, not decreased.
