Whenever I look at my mechs, I always wonder where all my weight goes as I try to make my builds fit. Most of the time I think to myself - how did i reach full tonnage so fast?

I think it would be nice to have a graphical representation of how much tons is assigned to what. Much like the the memory allocation bars on your phone, or have a nice pie chart. It would also help in comparing mechs to see how efficient one mech can be compared to the other.

For example: My AS7-S is currently carrying an AC-20, 3 medium pulses and 3 srm 6. compared to the trial ON1- K(C) has an AC-20, 4 mediums and 2 srm 4. it looks like im wasting a lot of weight on other things, so I usually strip down my mech to see how much weight goes where. It would be really nice to have a segregated bar or a pie chart representing the make up of your mech in terms of weight, so I can see what im doing differently.

This, unfortunately, is a large part of experimenting with builds. Most of my changes are incremental, which gets me into the same boat you found yourself in between the atlas and the orion.

Best thing to do is find a weapon grouping that works best for you in a certain weight class and use the same setup between different mechs, always trying to take advantage of the particular mech's quirks.

At any rate, I spend waaaay too much time in the mech lab, but i find it therapeutic....Posted Image

My main beef isnt with why my mech is practically the same, its with discerning where all my weight is going and what its really made up off. for instance, I would like to turn my spider into a sniper, so i could shred its armor and tone down its engine. but i wouldn't know how much weight im allocating/leaving for firepower, sure i could run the numbers but i still think a graphic would help more.

This graphic could really help with everyone's build, help with understanding their mech more and stuff. It should make the building process a lot more fun, and would help more of the newer players. Some players might think that 10 heat sinks is a good idea. you cant really see what % of your mech is made out of heat sinks, and would help players learn to compromise and adapt to different play styles.

And you know what would be even more therapeutic? A graphic Posted Image

Ever tried one of the Mrchbuilders?
For example LiSong? There are tons of graphs and statistics about your Mech.

About the other you get a feel after some time - pro tip never use a 205 or 305 engine (you pay a ton for nothing)

You can do this sort of thing yourself. Case in point:

Notes:
Structure includes engine weight.
Systems includes heatsinks not included as part of the engine.

I always knew i could do it myself, thats why im asking it to be integrated into the game since its so simple.

But then again i never knew of mech builders that gave such things so thank you Karl Steiger for letting me know Posted Image
