I don't have the ability to bring up mwomechlab right now, but more often than not, the builds will be centralized around 9 medium lasers with a standard engine, then stockpiling heatsinks. The medium laser duration is super short, so you can get a 45 damage allpha (if you're fine with ghost heat) off quickly and precisely.

As a start I guess, more sink / swap arms MLas with MPLas / even swap them all for SPLas for shorter duration. Play it around, some even ditch the arms like below.

But they are more common with the shorter range version.

6 medium lasers + 3 medium pulse lasers. STD 250. I think this might be what is on metamechs, but I'm not going to bother checking. I used this for eliting. Works well. It may go without saying, but nearly all builds utilizing all the energy hardpoints are going to run hot.
HBK-4P
Pretty straightforward and no ghost heat with alpha, thus it is cooler than 9 medium laser builds. 3 weapon groups. 1 for medium lasers. 1 for medium pulse lasers. 1 for chainfiring medium lasers when near heat threshold.

I'd actually prefer to have 3 tons for heat sinks or possible a bigger engine than have 3 med pulse to counter ghost heat. You won't be firing them all at once in the heat of battle, only in poking situations.

Personally I've always enjoyed the 4P with SPLs in the hunch and head.

Here's mine : 6 MLs in the hunch, main weapon battery, a ML in each arm for a bit more firepower and some "corner shooting", STD 275 engine (DON'T put an XL in a hunchie), AMS + 1 ton of ammo (optionnal, but since I'm mostly playing in PUGlandia and I'm still Tier 5, every bit of LRM protection I can get is good), as many heatsinks as possible.

I could add a 9th med las in the head, but I've found that that single laser used with the 6 of the hunch generates way too much heat on an already very hot 'Mech, and when trying to use it in combination with the arm lasers, it simply doesn't work.
I also tried Medium Pulse lasers, but honestly the quirks to standard med las are too good to pass up.
I've had some really great matches with that build, and some really horrible ones where I got targeted and de-hunched in the first five minutes, but on average it's fun ... kinda-sorta a minibrawler, meant to remain close to some heavy-hitter and add that sweet 30-dmg alpha quickly and frequently.
Modules are, of course, the cooldown and range ones for IS Med Lasers, plus something like Radar Derp and Seismic.
The hunchie has the great advantage of having two 'mech slots from the start, it's relatively fast and nimble, and it will teach you how to torso-twist, how to position yourself and how to finish damaged 'mechs with precision damage.
A very good machine.
