What a fascinating read this thread is. Too much to respond to by this point, but i'll throw my two cents in as someone who started as a noob in January 2016 and grinded through every tier (just made it to 1, woot woot).

While Oxides were the stuff of nightmares pre-rescaling, I can only recall one time where a streakboat gave me trouble and that was because there were 3 of them in a scouting match where my team was running 2 lights and 2 meds. Every other encounter I can remember has ended in me either disengaging to out-range the skillissles if i'm in a light and alone, or simply annihilating the mech as it spreads damage all over the place if i'm piloting anything else. Some exceptions to the light rule also - an ACH will run circles around a streakboat.

IMO if you're having trouble day in and day out with these things, you need to evaluate the tactics and quite possibly the builds you're bringing to a match. ID the target and its loadout and play accordingly, you'll have a much better time. Talk to your teammates, cycle in and out of the frontlines, adjust your mentality to that of a hunter and not the hunted. Fight, not fright.
I can't think of a time in recent history that a streak crow has given me issue. But then, that's probably because I don't play FP Scouting. Regardless of how useful they actually are, I still hate them with a burning passion and will bring down Hell's wrath on the pilot of one when at all possible. You can tell me streak crows are not a problem all you want, hell, you can even be right about it. But I'm still going to prosecute them whenever I see them with intense prejudice and I'm still going to tell them to die in a fire.

The weapon platform still lacks efficiency. Since the majority of matches will have Heavies, streaks arent strong enough to kill them.

I agree with this, but my point is that it's wrong to think that using Streaks takes no skill. With Streaks you can't rely on your shooting to get out of sticky situations, so it's imperative that you not get into sticky situations. As someone who is much better at shooting than positioning, I find Streakboats more challenging than direct fire loadouts.

Streaks are fine. If anything they could use a buff.

Do you have like 9+ tons of ammo and use 4-packs? Because that kind of damage total isn't easy, StreakDogs tend to be very tonnage hungry.

First off, Streaks:

Notice. 90% chance for accuracy? Launcher refuses to fire until it thinks it is sure to hit. Akin to Fup's emphasis on skill, won't fire unless you keep a strong lock on the target itself.
Not a 100% hitter as they are still SRMs, just can't fire them as easily.

You mean these Streaks?

This streak cat?

Terrifying, wasn't it?
...Not really.

I remember that, you used to "tackle" fast movers, so piloting a fast mech needed skill, but now, every one runs around 100+, turns on a dime, runs at 90+ heat and the mech just keeps zipping by
