If you pause/play the segment from 0:15-0:19, it's two Centurions (both say CN9-A) going at it.

The Centurion from whose POV we're seeing things has an LB 10-X AC (with 26 rounds remaining), two Medium Lasers, and an LRM-10 (with 180 rounds remaining).
The other Centurion is armed with a Large Laser, LRM-5, and an AC-2.

The opposing Centurion is firing the purple beam (apparently the Large Laser), then the POV Centurion responds with the yellow beams (the Medium Lasers).

So, I would also guess that it's a setting to cater to color-vision-deficient (as as distinct from totally-color-blind) individuals.

Hmm have to admit the video was short but quite interesting !!
Now I hope those colors are for the different types of lasers as would allow for quick identification of who is firing what by quick glance and be somewhat helpfull to those that are colorblind as well if there is no colorblind mod at the moment which i hope for those that need it there is.
