Technically every item in the crate is worth more than 25 MC, since every item is worth 50,000 C-Bills or more. And 50,000 C-Bills is worth more than 25 MC, in terms of PGI conversion.

MWO crate cash grab is tame in comparison to many other F2P games, such as Hearthstone. Buying packs in Hearthstone is a real ripoff.

Unique cosmetics would be nice.

2x srm2. 20k total.

Plus every item needs to be worth at least 100k if we add 50k crate sale price.

Wow, they had that prize? That's really low value.

Out of maybe 43 crates:

2 mechbays
1000mc
360 targeting module
~7mil Cbills after totaling the Cbills and selling the items, kept the 360 module
2 Lump of Coal
1 Dog Tags

A lot of repeat cache where the cache and reward were the same. Same items in the cache, same reward item when opened.

Didn't feel worth it, but I enjoyed the 12 mechbays included as part of the sale.

hmmmm

@Chagatay

The cache w/ the mc pays for what it would cost for the keys. And yet the reason it didn't feel worth it was because out of that many caches the overall feeling was disappoinment. The majority times the prize was one of the worst possible choices if not the worst choice.

100k, 250k cbills almost if not 100% of the time they were in the cache. LPL/erPPC sell for more and were the next most common. Only the 2 mechbays, mc and module feel like wins. 4 wins out of 38 plays is the perception with a mechbay the likely prize if no 100k or 250k cbill prizes are in the cache. Basically the mechbay has to be the worst outcome in the cache to get it.

These chests are heavily weighted. There should be an equal chance to win everything in it. PGI always finding ways to scam people.

Has anyone won a Mech? Or an engine? Or a bunch of MC? Or something quite valuable?
I just won a Vindicator VND-1AA, whichs only real value for me was its mechbay for which I had to open more than a dozen supply caches which would have make it cheaper to buy one mechbay instead of more than a dozen supply keys Posted Image

????

12 keys x 25 MC per key = 300 MC
Normal price of a mech bay = 300 MC
Plus you got 11 extra items, mech equipment and C-bills. Hard to beat unless there is a mechbay sale.

I bought an MC pack with 8 Caches, got 2 from the last challenge, one from the current challenge, and I've won one after a fight, so 12 so far. I got a Storm Crow right arm omnipod as my best item so far.

Got a clan streak srm 6. Not too bad of a deal for me really, got some mechs that really need it for streaking. Overall, kinda average prize, its pretty subjective. Its worth to sell at least for 240 K c-bills.

out of 100 supply caches, ZERO mechs, and ZERO items that are cockpit stuff and such. It is obvious that if the item would cost MC's to purchase, you wont' win it. And if you watch the wheel closely during the spin. Sometimes it acts like the wheel has a set of brakes on it and stops JUST short of a mech or an MC item. Then the next time, it has insane momentium to BARELY got past a mech or MC item to JUNK. What a scam to get people to spend real money for keys.Posted Image

gotta back Viper on this one...feels like a slanted roulette table at a roadside gas station at the crossroads of nowhere...

i have opened something like 20 caches...( earned some & took part in the bonus deal..) overall feeling is "MEH ..."
thanks for the clanner stuff, im an IS guy, and AC2's are swell...& i know i can sell for Cbills...
but as i am sitting on 20Mill in Cbills and 8K in MC...i can buy and build that stuff out...
- Was expecting a bit more as its real $, micro transaction or no...

My recomendation is make it far LESS common and make them *far* MORE Impressive...

if i know that there are Mech's, Colors, and camo in there... ill grind and pay.
I have proven that...

PS: when i send a buddy a gift mech to get them into the game past the BS Trial versions so they can have fun...
you should serioulsy consider having that come with a free ******* for the sender...

I was going to get a IIC Highlander out of it once... Before the thing noticed it was the best thing on the crate and magicly got a little push to get me the 50,000 CBs
If this is coded that way is really a turn off.
They could AT LEAST get rid of the weapons and maybe he CBs too? And maybe add one shot or perma paintskins or just some colors here and there. Its really annoying to get the CB prices or the SRM 2... Which you can really get in a bad match

I haven't been playing much lately, but I got my first supply cache today from the event (of course, I waited for the key, too, before opening it.)

I had chance of getting a few interesting things: a Commando of some sort, a Clan XL 300 engine, and a module (forget which one.)

Instead, I got a Large Pulse Laser.

I won't be opening anymore supply caches when I'll typically end up with random crap that I could have bought anyway. If the goal was to get me to spend a bit of real money, it has failed completely. In some ways, the trolling with useful items followed by the slap in the face - "here's your useless weapon!" - is even worse than simply giving me a random weapon up-front. As others have said, it feels like a sleazy carnival game that we all know is rigged, but we play it once to prove the point, and then never again.

GG, close, PGI.

2 events got me 2 keys resulting in 250000 cbills and a large laser.

I guess it's better than what some people here got, but these were the cheapest items in the cases I opened.

Why did they even bother with these cases, the chance of getting one is extremely low, chance of getting something good out of it is so low most people won't buy a key, and the few that do, will they really buy MC to do it?

The thing I don't get is that giving away junk defeats the purpose of this setup.

Let's go back to my supply cache. What if I had won the Commando? I don't own any Commandos, so that's two more I'd need to purchase if I decided to drive them. Admittedly, they are hard mode, but I've run Awesomes for years, so it's not like I'm unfamiliar with being out of the meta. Well, I don't currently have a lot of cbills.... so, maybe it would have been cheaper for me to spend a tiny bit of real money to pick up one of the extra Commandos I need... also, if I didn't already have extra mechbays, I might have bought a couple of those... you get the idea. That supply cache could have led to sales if I had won the mech.

Instead, I get a large pulse laser. There is nothing remotely interesting or inspirational about it, and there is an exactly zero chance that having an extra large pulse laser is going to encourage me to spend more money. It's not going to discourage me, though - it just doesn't matter.

So, yeah - if the goal was just to hand out random stuff now and then to players who are burning off small bits of free MC they've gained from events, it works fine. But if the goal was to encourage us to spend more money, it has failed completely, IMHO.

I have a gambling problem now, thanks PGI.

But seriously, I feel somewhat cheated. Though only because I'm mostly interested in those cockpit items and the wheel seems to be mocking me. From over a dozen caches I got cheaper weapons and some C-Bills.
Colors, patterns and decals would be nicer than the weapons I already have. Then again, it's the cheapest microtransaction-minigame I know of.

E:
Now I don't feel cheated, got a module after 20 or so caches. But the Lucky Cat got away again..

Playing this game for 3 days now.
Bought 3 keys for some MC . Second supply cache was a light Spider mech. Worth about 1.5million CB. That was very lucky cause it was the ultra rare drop in this chest.
