Go buy a mechpack, and see if it improves FP.

Not for nothin, but I don't know that I have ever seen IS with long tom....I know I have never fought against it. I am sure they have but from my experience a vast majority of the time, clans are the ones who have scouted to long tom which suggests some sort of imbalance towards the clan side of things.
You could spend all day arguing over what is causing that but PGI is the ones with all the raw data and I hope that they are spending some time reviewing that data and seeing if there is a way to even that out some. Maybe going down to 50 tons...maybe reducing clan streak range to match IS ranges on streaks...several good options out there to test out.
Having played both sides it's Streaks with 400m range vs IS light/medium weapons capping at 270, faster Clan mediums/lights and the lack of needing to aim with streaks.
Most Clan pug decks have at least 2 or 3 Streakboats. It's the premade teams that don't need them - someone who can actually aim can do way more in a Nova.
Since scouting has a lot more pug v pug action than you see in Invasion queue it's a more telling factor there. Really all it comes down to. A weapon that doesn't need aimed in a loadout that destroys lights in 2-3 salvos with a range at 400m is quite simply going to dominate over a weapon that does need to be aimed and takes 2-4 *accurate* shots to cripple (but not kill) a Clan light with a range of 270m (SRMs/ML/AC20 combos).
The fundamental problem is that you'll never balance 4v4 scouting anything vaguely like 48v48 invasion. Every single variable is 12x as impactful. Scouting should be a fun game mode but it shouldn't have a decisive or even 'significant' impact on Invasion. If it does you'll be creating a lot of issues.

Come on man. We all know you are disgruntled...a lot of us are but snarky comments like this serve no purpose other than to make things worse than what they are.

Please refer to this forum and you will find at least one posting how to deal with clan streak boats. Learn and adopt!

Of course, and some people do know. The problem is that--ultimately, all four people--three at least--need to know how to counter streakboats. This is made worse by the fact that all four people need to work together. Getting a PUG to consistently do that--in any game--is almost impossible.

Well than he will have to face reality and won't win a single match.

A: you are absolutely right, I am disgruntled because I can not play my fav game mode.
B: comments like this serve no purpose but to prove one point: it takes 2-3 weeks to digest the round table discussion, which was on one topic for 90 percent of it, it takes 7 days, after the round table, to announce a mechpack. We see where the priority is here. I am plainly suprised that he didn't announce it at the round table...
and C: that mech will still be subject to all the bugs, issues and lack of players in FP.
You want a fix, I'll give you one: quick play free play. FP only on premium time. So if you are willing to spend premium time playing FP, chances are you will be quite good in short order and PGI is getting some money to improve FP. No one will waste premium time getting clubbed. Of course it still needs a long tom nerf, and we still need a proficiency ladder ( green, regular, veteran, elite ) .
In the meantime, go buy a mech pack. or not.

A- You can play your favorite game play mode. you CHOSE not to. I have issues with CW which was why I agreed to take part in the town hall meeting...something that I really REALLY hate doing, but I know that coming to the forums and trying to bring everyone else down will not help the situation at all
B- I love it when people take a situation that they see from the outside and declare a faulty correlation too it. Yes, I would have preferred it if Russ and Co would have came out the next day and said what they wanted to do but in reality I would imagine they had to spend some time dealing with other issues and trying to see if what they wanted to do would actually work. Also, that announcement of a mechpack would have been part of a business strategy that was set in motion months ago. Any results coming from the town hall are almost entirely independent of the release of a new mech pack except for the fact that if PGI doesn't continue to release new content of some type, they will not make any money, will have to close up shop and then the town hall meeting won't matter at all.
C- and no, sorry disagree with putting CW under a paywall. That would make it so much worse than it is now.

I can crush streakboats all day every single day. In a Griffin or a Shad. I respect a good nova or scrow pulse boat however.
If you'd actually read this thread you'd know the issue isn't unit v unit but pug v pug.
Once again - AC20s work if you can aim. Streaks still work even if you can't. In pug v pug streaks provide a decisive advantage. Huge range advantage, 60 pt alpha, you don't have to be able to aim. In pug v pug it's decisive and that's why scouting is always very one-sided right now.
