No, this is not name and shame.

Just a few games apart, you can have wildly different experiences, even if you try to play your best.

Good game:

<Screenshot removed because people can't handle someone else doing good for once>

I had a few kills and good damage and we narrowly won 12-10.

Bad game:

<Screenshot removed because people can't handle someone else doing good for once>

I did even more damage than in the winning game, but still we lost 8-12.

I am confused, why was the 2nd game bad? From the scoreboard it looks like a pretty close hard fought match.

Your winning team did 3423 Damage

Your losing team did 4586 Damage

Looks like it was a close game, so why is 8-12 a bad game ?

Ok... that still doesn't make sense to me. I would rather lose like that than 12-0 with 5 or 6 people below 200 damage.

I did almost 1000 damage, killed a few and damaged a few more, how can it be good if we still don't win? What was the rest of the team doing?

So this was just a try hard thread, and of no real value to the community

Because you are not entitled to win all the time and sometimes even when you do well you still lose. It's not like you had a team of terribads, only two did sub 200 damage and just barely. The winning team had 3 with less than 200 and one that didn't make triple digits. It looks like the winning side did a better job supporting their assaults, hard to say from just the scoreboard, but that could have been the deciding factor. Overall it looks like a close game.

Nobody wants to lose, but somebody has to even when both sides play hard. When you have a loss like that just be grateful it was not a stomp and be a gracefull loser.

I'd say 99% of the posts in this forums is of no value to the community, so I don't see what that has to do with anything.
This thread was to illustrate how different the outcome gets even if you yourself do your best.
Kind of like a argument against my own thread about how a single player affects the game.

Ugh... I guess I should have posted a screen from one of my many more bad games?
I don't get why anyone would assume that I'm bragging. I know this is nothing special, besides, I don't do this on a regular basis as the good players do.

I read your OP as "Look at this great game I had in my CDA then look at how hard I carried these scrubs but we still lost." It did not make me sympathetic or illustrate the point you are trying to make now.

Sorry Yello, but any game where I get 4137 XP and half a million c-bills, is both exceptional (you mention above that you know this is nothing special) and a good game, at least for me most of those with whom I play. Doing that in a loss? Not only pretty dang good, but down right amazing.

I would take Game 2 as an awesome match, nobody on my team did sub 100 damage (for a change) same on the enemy team instead it was a very hard fought furious battle. Then again, I have learned to care about having a good hard fight instead of winning. I judge a game if it was good or not by if I had fun, I generally find (warning confirmation bias) these fun matches are where majority of both teams had players breaking 100 damage. Why is 100 damage such a critical point? Well, one, that is enough to kill a majority of mechs if you have good aim and just burrow through their CT. Two, 100 damage puts them in triple digits which looks cleaner than a bunch of triple digit scores and then a few double or even single digit scores.

Main thing is, after 100 damage it means someone was able to live long enough to put out a good number of volleys (unless we are talking about the KDK-3 or any other UAC+5 boat) into the enemy and do something. I will take a close 8-12 loss match over even a 12-0 stomp because the challenge is fun, winning is just a bonus. Hell I have had 12-0 wins that were exceptionally close and only due to people close to death cycling out while fresher mechs took point was why the enemy didn't get a kill.

Nothing special for good players. I don't consider myself very good. For me this was very good. In the losing game I got most of my kills, if not all while it was an even game... then it just fell apart and I was alone.... I just just "how the hell..".

It's funny how many get upset because I posted a few screenshots where I did good for once...

Depends on how you define "good". If Im in my LRM mech, unless I hit 400+dmg, Its not a good match. If I get 400dmg in a Wang, its probably a good match because that ac20 kills mechs before applying high levels of damage by destroying ST's or the backs of mechs.

I don't think anyone was upset, more perplexed by what the OP meant followed by unimpressed with your logic.
