- Single player map only. Why? Quicker match load times for Solaris, will draw less players away from FW and PUG play.
- Rank the players in Solaris by weight class. Make the rankings public.
- Have a ranked play hour on Friday night. It will be 1 hour where only the top ranked Solaris players can do matches. Why? see spectating below.
- Enable spectating of matches. If a player tags a friend and wants to watch him in a match, he will get a notice in game when his friend is queued up for a Solaris match.
- Allow BETTING by Solaris players. Players can put up a pool of C-Bills or MCBILLs for a match. Give a 5% cut to the house (PGI). Gee, you guys just got a free source of funding from MC now.
- Allow BETTING by Solaris spectators on who will win the match. Put in a house take of 5% again.
- Put in a few specialized maps for Solaris: Brawl, Snipe, Urban. Allow the players to know the map they are going on before picking their mech for the match.
Put In Solaris Already

And how on earth do they propose to have an 8-man only Solaris queue without decimating the group queue of QP? How does Solaris fit in with QP and FP? Does Solaris replace QP? If so, how will all those 12v12 maps be used?
I wonder if PGI has answers to those questions or whether they're just winging it.

That doesn't change anything if you still have a QP queue separate from Solaris, youre still splitting the playerbase even further.
And you're wrong about the separations anyway, its Solo QP, Group QP, Invasion FW, Scouting FW, Private matches.
We don really need more separation.
Honestly if i was PGI id shelve Solaris & the singleplayer campaign (though the singleplayer campaign could be made and left until MWO was about to lose its licence and then sell it as a standalone offline mode)

I want chaotic mayhem.
Having matches with weightclasses is a given, but there should be an open weightclass option too.
Then the Urbie destroys all which amuses everyone in such a match.

Who knows - virtually every existing map is already an arena of sorts.

I do not like this rule. Any and all underhanded tactics one can think of should be entirely possible. Now that is chaos and mayhem.

Well that is true. But without such a rule there is one thing that is inevitable - Lot's of whining posts about how many players go to a quiet corner of the map and stay hidden till the match is nearly over.

Thie requires existance of a decent development plan and a carefull following it. I doubt PGI has it. Most ptobably things get done via daily (or weekly) directives 'you know what? we are doing this!' without estiamation of time and resources needed. So, I'm afraid, PGI just do not have such info themselves.

PGI will be quite nervous when they introduce a new feature. So when the whiners start howling about the players that hide PGI might make a biiiig mistake of some kind.
So unfortunatly for you the universe doesn't revolve around you Mystere.
