During the round table (I stepped in about 3/4 in) a favorable suggestion was giving teams a handicap to overcome team and skill disadvantages.
Perhaps, before dropping on a planet, each member/team could choose a difficulty level. An average of difficulties, or some formula, is used. Increasing difficulties could give higher rewards (c-bills and faction points, and/or faster acquisition of planetary resources).
Potential handicaps I can think of:
ai vehicles
infantry
Upgraded turrets (from larger health pools, to more damage, to additional turret weapons (ballistics, lrms, srms, ssrms)
ammo resupply
mercenaries/ai mechs
larger drop weights
larger unit drop sizes
smaller enemy drop sizes based on difficulty
additional maps with better defense profiles
increased drop deck size
Thoughts? Ideas? Additional suggestions?
