There are a few mechs in my hangar that I would like to have the arms locked. Is there a way in game to make this a toggle from the cockpit and not have to enable it globaly?

Yeah, man.. Go into settings / keyboard and there's a line to set a button to toggle arm lock.

I use it for some mechs that have their main weapons in their torso, so I can flip it at the start of the match for greater torso accuracy.. while still being able to quickly turn it off to shoot UAVs.

Yes. It's in the keyboard menu. Just under "arm lock".

I'm confused at your question, arm-lock toggle is a key binding. I have my bound to shift.

Anybody can reach T1 with ease now. The rank bar is just an XP bar.

And what does post count and achievement title has to do with PSR? Although PSR is out of wack after these many months.

Or... maybe he is asking for a real toggle. Like push button once -> have arms locked, push button again -> have 'em free.

You know... sometimes it sucks if you want to use MASC, VOIP and free arms at the same time.

I'm not even sure you are reading the OP's post.

You can't configure Arm Lock on a per-mech basis. It's either toggle on-off or toggle on hold (while holding a button down).

You are better off just testing your mech when a match starts for arm lock (and it's not hard to do).

You mean like the arm-lock toggle key that is in the current game key bindings already?

You can toggle the lock to a button in the keyboard settings, I have the numeric keypad's ENTER toggled to turn the lock on or off. You don't have to rely on the momentary lock left shift. There's a FULL lock/unlock feature but it isn't bound to anything by default. If you have a multi-button gaming mouse you can also bind one of its controls to that function. Myself I've only got 7 mouse clickables on my logitech and they're used for four fire groups, zooming in and zooming out, and triggering the second consumables slot.

Anyway, go into keyboard settings and under MECH there's a host of unbound commands that exist. Toggle Arm Lock, Coolshot, Call Artillery Strike, Call Air Strike and Launch UAV, and Toggle MASC are unbound by default. The spectate functions are also unbound as are a bunch of the zoom functions.

You can even set up voice commands using the windows accessibility features and the MWO keyboard setting

Just to be that guy

Yeah, what the others said. There's a setting for it. Personally, I just leave my arms unlocked and when I want perfect weapon convergence I just hold down my arm lock key until I am done firing. Pretty easy.

I have mine set to caps lock, so I have a nice little light on my keyboard telling me when my arms are locked :P

It also allows me to shout in chat like the salty tryhard I am when using arm lock, so when you see "GET REKT" instead of "get rekt," you know I'm relying on a crutch Posted Image

I still have my VOIP bound to caps lock and after using my mic in-game I'll often accidentally scream at my team mates in all caps with the letters that normally would have been capitalized in lower case.
