The red box that encircles an enemy mech on R button press is an aiming aid.

It encourages ppl to aim for the center of the box & shoot without being able to see who or what they're shooting at.

I think it might be OP.

On a serious note, I haven't played MWO in a month or two & probably don't know what I'm talking about.

I just wanted to yap unfounded OP accusations in the way that I *imagine* others in this section do habitually.

Also, it is p2w because you have to buy a keyboard with an "R" key to utilize the feature.

Where do I get this modified "P" key with the tiny little leg? My key input device does not have this special key and I am feeling quite cheated.

I actually do hate it. on maps like Forrest when the enemy can be hard to see I end up taking a lot of shots at doritos and red boxes. Unless a mech is targeted, I don't think there should be any big red indicators.

I happen to quite like my Razer keyboard... although I use the Razer Tryhard Ultrapro Oldschool Nostromo instead of my BWU.

If you don't have an R key, I suggest using windows' on-screen keyboard. This will level the playing field for you.
