This just popped into my head so it may sound a bit half baked...
I think I would enjoy and invest in this game more if they had some kind of Daily Tournaments.
They could start with a simple 1v1 daily Tournament where you sign up some how have eight matches then the winners of those play the winner of the others and so on till there is a overall winner.
Would be like a Solaris mode in multiplayer.
I know... it would require some complex coding but, just saying.

It would require a lot of backend work, not just a website update.
It ultimately would have to be part of the main application to be effective.

Half-baked seems about right.
Though i like the the idea for a opt in insta league.
1v1 death match elimination. With a sign up period.
Daily basis.
