The vocal community, are on record for disliking the way P.S.R works, because of its upward bias.

Sunday night I started an alt account, for a challenge, so I finally experienced how it works for new players.

I have to say I was shocked to see that you start with Teir 5 bar 80% full, I don't understand why, surely empty is better ?

My Second shock came with my first game, I am aware that not many new starts will achieve this but I had a +700 damage game 4 kills 4 assists, there is a reason for blowing my own trumpet, because after the match I found that I was not only out of T5 but the T4 bar was slightly under 50% full.

It then took me only another 6 games to reach Tier 3

I am no where near top flight in skills, I when I put my mind to it and give the game my full concentration probably falling in the above average level, but my point is this.

Unless someone is very very bad, they are going to end up in T3 games, possibly facing comp level people after around 20 games.

How are genuine new starts going to learn the game properly when they face the possibly of fighting T1 people with mastered fully kitted out mechs before they have even generated enough C-bills to elite their first three mechs.

P.S.R in my view needs its upward bias removed, or at the very least, changed so that it takes around 50 games to reach T3.

Having them progress so quickly, does not protect them from people, that enjoy farming Newbies, because they end up fighting everyone of a much higher level.

I propose that currently P.S.R needs changing to slower progress, because in it's current state, it's putting new starts into matches that can only cause a negative view of the game

One thing I noticed with the PSR is it is actually most dependent on victories not actual pilot skill. I still think that victories should contribute, but that they should only account for 5% or less influence on the PSR.

Here are some of the factors that affect score:

damage, assists, team damage, staying in formation, kills, kills most damage dealt, spotting, etc.

There are plenty of other factors that could be used to more accurately determine a pilots skill that also show how much they contributed to the team. Thanks to these Victories should have a top off effect on PSR.
