I think that this would be advantageous to do because damage is one of the better indicators that we have in determining how skilled a pilot is at the game.

Additionally, it would also indirectly account for the amount of games played too, namely, someone cannot just have one decent game in order to place highly on the leaderboards. Rather, it would be a gradual accumulation.

It certainly has drawbacks as a sorting feature, but I think that it needs to be up there because it is a litimus test to judge overall efficiency and it is a (more) fair ranking system.
