Today I came to wit, however, that absolutely everything makes sense when you realize the relatively small staff of PGI work 2 day work weeks. And these days arent back to back, either. Sometimes, they are holidays or half days when the staff needs to take a breather. They show up around 8AM, there is that initial dickaround time before the daily staff meeting at 9, they sit at their desks for a solid hour and a half and then its lunchtime. Sometimes that lunch time gets extended because there are errands to run for some of the crew, and the people who came back to the office cant really get much work done without the people who are still at lunch, so that afternoon is looking like kind of a wash. Some of them have to take off early for the day anyway to pick their kids up from Canada school. Most of this stuff can wait until the next work day in a few days anyway, so there's no reason to really be bothered with it. And some point an unlucky designer had to come in early anyway to upscale the Marauder a bit.
Oh but thankfully one of them cleaned his desks finally and found the sticky note from three years ago regarding the god awful skill tree system that makes zero sense, so they are working on that now, maybe.

I think I missed it.
I will resist the temptation to read it again, and just give you the benefit of the doubt.
I doubt you a lot. +1
Look forward to BT, and don't sweat it. This game becomes a lot more enjoyable once you stop giving a f*ck about it.

There's no good excuse for the timeline to content ratio of MWO, and PGI has only
ever been honest with that with the psalm "Minimally viable product"

You know that spark of genius type thing, they are all working their asss of.
It will come, wouldn't it?
I have an idea for them:
They could bundle mechs for release into packages, like one light, one medium, one heavy, one assault.
Isn't that a groundbreaking idea?
I'm a genius...
Yeah.

There is no water in the MWO universe, it's just reflective, slightly heavier than air gas.

"Minimally viable product" is a catchphrase of the startup business model. You don't waste time building stuff your customers may not even want. Instead you build a basic product and upgrade it with things your customers demand. MWO is nowhere near the seed MVP. It may not be a AAA game yet, but honestly these days many AAA games launch with less meat than MWO has today.
PGI is no google, I think we can all admit that, but I would rather have MWO than nothing and I would much rather have MWO today than MWO in closed beta.

I kinda like the Idea of a manditory military service like the Roman Empire had. A brief part of life that can teach "some" people discipline.

People looking for a paycheck instead of experience, or service.
Be glad they are there, they are the ones who are expended so that real warriors can do their job. (they can draw fire for you).
Unfortunately that is not the case with any maintenance worker... or support staff.

I get in around 9:30 and usually zone out for an hour in front of my computer, but it looks like I'm working. I then zone out for another hour after lunch too. In fact, in a given day, I'd say I do fifteen minutes, of real, actual work.

Maybe they are all just looking angry all the time, and thus getting all sorts of work benefits.

Patient is already dead so just the bare minimum of care is required.
Just look at the forums in comparison to two years ago. Just the walking dead are left here along with some children and the ever hopeful that some unicorn with give them the horn.

Nope nope nope. The level of vitriol has not changed that much over the years. There has always been some new affront or outrage, whether it was uneasy/way to early transition out of beta, 3rd person, awful splatcat, the beyond half assed introduction of clans, the Gold Clan mechs, the absolutely impossibly slow implementation of easy fixes, IGP, the embarrassing UI 2...
