My first thought as well. If we ever get custom deckles, this is what I'll put on mine:

Yeah, I honestly don't know what they were thinking here. Maybe it will looks great with other colours, but the Cataphract on that picture looks like it belongs in a Busta Rhymes music video.

It kind of looks like those chameleon paint jobs for cars.. where the colors shift as you view it from different angles.

..if so, and if you can change the underlying base paint color.. that would be awesome.

(..but, if they're stuck looking like that picture without being able to repaint them.. ugh.. they might as well make them hot pink with a little bow on top..)

-----edit-----

This is what I mean when I say chameleon paint:

...

I liked the hex pattern on last year's loyalty mechs. It was a nice little callback to the tabletop roots of the franchise.

This year's pattern will need to be painted over, though.

the only sad thing here is that they completely abandoned this armor layer thing from last year. They literally build this whole system for 5 mechs and never used it again. I mean it could be another layer of camo you can sell Posted Image

Wut?! I renovated two 1950s bathroom to get rid of hex tiles like those :) But I can't get rid of it on my loyalty Mechs.

Didn't they say a couple years ago we'd be able to change the patterns on the loyalty mechs (and founders)? The King Crab, Atlas, and Centurion loyalty pattern is just so god awful ugly.

Tabletop BattleTech uses a hex grid. The brown and green colors in the hexes correspond pretty closely with common colors for open ground and light woods.

I get that tiny, ceramic hex tiles were a pretty common floor type in the 1950's, but most of the houses I've lived in to-date were built in the 1970's, so when I think horrible flooring, I think of the shag carpetting that will adorn next year's loyalty mechs.
