at least when you go to vegas, the slot machine sometimes jingles.

Aye, but what is the percentage on people winning the jackpot in Vegas? Crates jingle often, its just the prizes are mostly useless if you already have millions of C-Bills. Just like how winning a hundred grand in Vegas doesn't mean much if you are already a multi-millionaire.

I have seen quite a few people posting their mechs won through the crates, so PGI is not doing a complete fraud.

Thats how the system lure the people who dont know better. One guy out of millions wins every other week and so the people think they have a chance when statistically they dont. 1 out 1billion isnt a chance to win, its a certitude to lose.

Let Bill Nye explain it to you. Second Vid "it preys on the aspect of human natures where we embrace the successes of others."

My comment about "PGI not doing complete fraud", meant that as long as winning the grand prize is possible, as proven by the winners who posted on the forums, then PGI is not cheating.

If no one wins the mechs after some time, then that's real BS. Which is not the case.

yeah and i just highlighted the reason why some think that because they are not a fraud it's not real BS.

Frankly I think that the issue is that the rewards don't feel good. If you plan on using what drops out of here, the it is a decent system because you feel like you are getting something. If you are trying to get the lucky win and dont care about the large pulse, ac/5 or gauss that comes out of these boxes quite often then you will most likely feel extremely unsatisfied.

Wow, really, 6 threads? It doesn’t mean much coming from this short-sighted forum. Common sense isn’t all that common I suppose.

It’s expected because PGI is a business, not a fundraiser. Any times there’s a smaller value available in gambling, you can always assume that greater values will be far less common, far less common than the 1:8 ratio. That’s how it works. That's how they make their money. No one should be surprised, or confused, or upset. If you're upset, you're upset for being so naive.

Excellent white knighting there. "Screw the customer because they don't understand, it's their fault for not figuring it out sooner." Yeah, so many small businesses thrive with attitudes like that.

I noticed that you Glazed over the fact that I figured it out before I opened even one. So I'm not upset, or naive. I didn't spend any MC on keys, or buy large amounts of MC to get bonus Supply Caches or keys thinking they might be good. All the ones I got were rewards or earned during wins.

You know who's upset, the 6 or more customers who were upset enough to post new threads in the forums, not add their experience to existing ones. Some who actually purchased large amounts of MC to get Supply Caches. So, there are a lot more than 6 customers not happy.

But you're right, screw 'em. Let's not bother informing any other customers to hold off on opening them when a patch is slated to show the best ones to open. They are all naive customers who deserve what they get.

Awesome!

I didn't and won't buy keys. I already have a taste of what it's like on the free ones.
I got:
250,000 c-bills
1x Large Laser
BAP

I mean, I'm not mad, it's free stuff after all, but yeah, those are not good odds from your post experience and my free stuff experience. It tempts to see 1k MC just waiting there and open, but yeah, you'll pretty much get something worth 200k, or less. So no thanks.

And yeah, of course it's not 1/1 for everything. They have the same idea as CS:GO and TF2. Just open a crate seemingly having 1/1 chance for every item, but the difference is that you see the rarity colors and even a text that says (which is the highest pay out) 'An incredibly rare special item!'. But this MWO crate system does not have any of those things. So yeah, I get why people say it's not rigged when there's no indication that the odds between the items are 1/1.

Thinking 25MC would get you 5m every time is stupid.
What I can get from everyone is:
The system is not clear. It does not tell you the chances or rarity, nor does the system tell there's a rarity system (it's just a spinwheel of equal space for and between each item) and people are used to CS:GO or TF2 standards. CS:GO and TF2, when you see the crate, it has rarity colors. In addition, when you open a crate in CS:GO, you can see the common items and uncommon appearing a lot while the spinwheel goes on, and every now and then a rare or epic item will show up, but only once or twice maximum in a spin. This system does not have that.
So yeah, I get why people say it's rigged (even when I figured out from experience that it would be incredibly difficult to get 1000 MC from a crate). But there's the problem, I figured out myself, not from the system itself. People say it's rigged because it appears to be 1/1 between each item, the visuals also show that, the system does not say anything, but there's a hidden rarity system (I repeat, I say hidden because nothing indicates otherwise)

The boxes need Sets of weapons from manufacturers within factions. Collect the set. Get a title, perhaps a reward like when you rank up in FP. Doesn't need extra stats. "Marik Munitions Large **** Laser"

the boxes are rigged, got 2 supply caches of identical content unlocked both got exact same useless cockpit item .

so nope dont care what peeps say abot random and gambling .. these boxes are rigged and are nothing more than a poor attempt to sucker people out of their money.

If you want to gamble, theres vegas And theres supply caches

both are "rigged" against you, if u so choose to think that way from your small sample size. Even programmers know there's no such thing as a real random number generator.

if you want an honest days work, theres everywhere else but Vegas (and Reno, and Atlantic City and etc) and theres quick play and faction play.

so dont complain for goodness sake. U already knew what u were in for.

template based loot boxes would be crazy unethical and stupid. we`d catch on fast. If the item was a high chance and you got it twice, well, a two box study doesn`t prove anything.
