In a couple of games now I've had really serious lag issues (mechs stop moving, then warping, etc.). Basically it's a death sentence.

In both cases I've had a solid ping (25-50ms) going in. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there any way to monitor ping in-game?

Happens to my inferior internet. The delay in ping display can also lag so it freezes at 50ms then when the lag spike is over it zooms up to like 50,000 and then back down. I admit though that my internet really sucks. It's so bad that too much VOIP on my team can disconnect me and kill my net (which then needs restarting).

Pressing F9 will toggle showing you your fps and ping. I hit F9 as soon as the mech lab pops up.

Do you have anything major running in the background, like a virus scan?

I had loads of incidents like that when playing on WiFi, after I switched to hardwired those became extremely rare

if you are playing using wireless internet and you can plug in a network cable try it.

I have a hard line to a FiOS connection. Everything is pretty solid. The only thing I can think of is that I had a paused d/l going on in the background. Maybe I should have just canceled it.

And if you are running Windows 10, disable the settings in the control panel to prevent windows updates from being torrent between you and others.
