What would this consist of?

I am picturing 4 mechs who can complement each others' abilities to the point where they are prepared to take on any situation.

I imagine LRMs would be out of the picture. A sniper would be a must have?

Would the squad rely on speed? Would it even have an assault mech?

I am very interested in this. Could 4 people hold off a battalion?

What is the Inner Sphere suicide squad?

4 Locusts because no 'Mech can get close to them (so far) while they can slowly peel the enemy's armor off from a distance.

You need to think optimisation and not this "complementing each other or loadouts for different situations" rubbish!

Are you confident in your choice?

As confident as a Founder can be.

*If you still do not understand, those four are the original Founder's program mechs.

4 locusts would be cannon fodder. The rules of this video game would not protect them from live fire.

I'm unable to think situations outside of the gaem. Let me get back to you later.

4 summoners with dual PPCs.
You can hold off an entire invasion force with those.

Pathetic, I want ingenuity.

You should be willing to bite the enemy's neck if the situation warrants it

lol... you are not familiar with dual PPC summoners then.. its scarier in a brawl!

A brutal introduction is the key to an experienced pilot. I am thankful for your punishment. My predecessors will use this data with respect; however, we both know that it will be your downfall. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Ok, I'm back! All of these 'Mechs are completely stock and it's played out along the lines of the TT game:
  • A Spider SDR-5V which act as a fast recon 'Mech and spotter for LRM (you know what's coming next!).
  • An Archer ARC-5R for fire support with its dual artemis'ed LRM15 and dual ERLL.
  • A Warhammer WHM-7A (an upgrade to the SLDF Royal's 6Rb) to hold the line.
  • A Highlander HGN-732b (SLDF Royal version) for.... DFA (actually Gauss and LRMs, with decent short ranged firepower when the bad guys are getting close)!
This lance makes use of long range and indirect firepower. Total weight is 260 tons which is 10 tons more than our FP dropdeck limit. All of the variants are produced at 3050 or before.

I mean... clan would be 4 small laser novas... that'll ruin anything'S day.. but IS?... hmm. I'm thinking an ecm raven, an ecm griffin, an ecm archer with lrms, and an ecm atlas..

Atlas is primary close range fire, griffin holding atlas flanks, raven poking and disrupting enemy concentration and perhaps causing squirreling, and lrm archer providing extremely disruptive fire support and keeping heads down as atlas and griffin close in.
