I would recommend that only use a key on a supply cashe if it has more than two items you want for example

3 weapons things (AC/2 etc)
1 Mechbay
250 MC
1 Commando mech

at least you have a greater chance on getting something you want than a AC/2. I would want the mechbay,250MC and the commando mech as those are things I would use and not just sell outright as its easy to get 200k c-bills in a match.

Being that its only 25 MC for a key while some cashes have free keys and with the events now will give you keys/MC and cashes as its another carrot for us to use MC for. So make sure it has at least 2-3 things you want otherwise just sell it for 50k c-bills unless you have the MC to burn...

There are ways to get free MC from the events almost every two to three weeks..

Worst tip. You said to spend MC opening caches... Bad bad bad.

Best advise is to SAVE the MC, each event. Then get a mechbay once you have enough, not gamble on micro transaction style rubbish.

You'll never win in the long run. So save the MC, sell the cache. Only open it with a FREE key from events.

The chances of getting ANY of the three items you really want are very, very slim. Only open with free keys, and if you get multiple keys make sure you really want to open a cache. You can always save the keys and sell the cache for later.

Also, it is worth noting that PGI is apparently going to let us know via a future patch what the exact percentages are for each item. (It is not an equal chance for each. Rather the crap items are common and the desirable items are rare or very rare.)

If you read the whole post I do say you get free keys from events and also some from the cashes as well...

Use the free keys, sure. Use the MC, I'd say heck no. Those small amounts add up to enough for a mechbay reasonably quickly I have noticed. I have gotten nothing interesting from about 24 free keys I have opened, in theory, promising caches with. I don't mind the c-bills and weapons I did get from the boxes, but not enough to waste (imo) MC on. One 230 XL engine seems worth a deal of c-bills, but I have no idea if I will ever get to use it in the foreseeable future.

Mind you, I specifically culled over 30 boxes I had gathered at that stage (18 from MC buy) down to the ones that actually held good stuff, selling off all the ones that had at least one or two items I was not interested in. I treated weapons as basically a zero, not a negative counting against the box, but not a positive to make me want to keep it and chance a free key on.
