I disabled the Cockpit glass and Monitors and gained 20 FPS. This should help out with the low frames you guys have noticed.

Who knew useless resources like Scaleform for the monitors and the awful looking Cockpit glass would consume FPS?

Turn off your Hud if you want real FPS improvement. Course it makes playing a lot hardy, but ya can't have everything.

I was doing fine at 30 FPS until I was on Ice City or Forest Colony. People kept saying my videos were low on frames. Also took off the directional arrow. I didn't test to see if that helped or not.

Mwo you really have to turn off every thing to even get decent fps to stay at or near the 3o-4o range. My pc only had 8 gig memory and an eight core amd 815o 3.6o ghz cpu but I can run mgs 5, batman arkham city and skyrim on highest and ultra yet mwo I too have to do as you have found with the cockpit glass and monitors.

I go so far as setting all the video settings to low and going to the adv video settings and turning off most of those options.Turning off in game voip might raise fps as well. I think I have only textures on medium. I'd love someone to post a video of game play settings at low, med, and high using only mwo's minimal and recommended hardware settings from the down load client page. Those poor people probably can't get 3o fps.

I manage 60 fps with most things on high or very high other than shadows and something else. Cockpit glass IS gone though as it does help WAY more than it should. (One would think it should just be a clear part of the cockpit model Posted Image )

At minimal specs? They'd be lucky to get 10 fps with low everything and an adjusted aspect ratio that makes everything look fat. They may get 20-25 if they're lucky, but that's probably going to drop to singles the second an intense fight or weather affects show up. (I used to play this on a regular laptop that was meant for low-power games and businessy things. 30 was when everything was calm on a basic map... 20 was lucky on a calm complex map... 10 was a dream when fighting started... forget playing a light mech with THAT fps)

Stick a piece of chewing gum where your center crosshairs are and you're golden.

People used to put tapped crosshairs on their monitors in MPBT so they could fire and hit with weapons when zoomed in. That lasted for a short time before Kesmai made weapon fire spread when zoomed in. FYI, crosshairs were valid only @ 0%.

Turn off absolutely everything non essential - use the task manager. I can reduce the load from 61 background apps to 17. Lifted my fps from about 8-10 with crashes to 4 to about 40-50fps with crashes to 10. Huge difference, especially in match score, I have moved my Tier level about 1cm to the right in the last few days play. Keeping the system cool adds about another 25% to mine but I use a lap top which is not ideal for this. I use stock standard ACER Inspire V5, with i7 processor and NVDIA 710 graphics. I was used to very low fps but this improvement has given a new level of enjoyment to the game, also - SSD being installed today :)

I usually close down 2 or 3 apps before playing too. Gotta give MWO all the attention.

Dont wanna be a complete dikk, but ever thought of upgrading your rig? I have an average set up only but it still does not effect my fps turning glass on or off and i havent even touch those useless monitors. Posted Image

For a F2P game, MWO requires WAY too much rig. MWO is a size queen...

I have upgraded everything over the past 2 years. Maybe it's the game engine? Because StarCitizen and MWO are pretty demanding.

Alternatively, buy one of the gaming monitors with built-in crosshairs and other stuff you probably should not tell PGI about. Posted Image
