I don't think anyone really cares anymore, even from day one I couldn't understand why, as even my whaleness rebelled at the thought of that kind of money, but I certainly wasn't going to be the dumb one. that back shot team mates out of jealousy

This reminds me of when Justin Bieber showed off his leopard print lambo. I'm never impressed just because someone bought something. I'm sure PGI is extremely grateful you think that shiny skin is worth that kinda cash. Me, on the other hand, not so much.

It's freaking shiny thats all and thats a lot. also its basically just 260 dollar since you got the entire masakari pack.

The sad thing...is I would totally buy a Gold Summoner if they became available again. I wasn't in a position financially to acquire a gold pack (or even the full clan pack, I only got half of it the first time) when it released, and when I thought about buying it again they were already taken down finally. :\

It may also be that people like me make homemade gold mechs... I mean... what? Who said counterfeit? Not me surely!

Gold is a good long term investment. Cryshaders probably wont appreciate so much on the stock market though.

you do realize that all colors, and camo's are pure vanity too right? I don't think I've ever seen anyone complain about a color request, or decals, or camo.. In fact,, people request new colors, camo and decals all the time and people pile on and say YES!.

Why this one thing get called out as being a waste is beyond me.. the gold mech was a 250 dollar add on, but if you like to paint and decorate mechs, you could easily spend that kinda cash... I think about 1/3 of the money i spent on the game so far has been paint and camo so maybe like 50 bucks? A little chunk of change, but over a 3+ years it's not that big of a dent



But it kinda reminds me of the other day i was getting my hair cut, and some kid about 17 was right before me he finished up and left. Me and the girl were chatting, and mentioned he comes in every week. (it's really short, clipper/marine style) which costs about 25 bucks a week, she said this cause i come in about once every 6 months.. and we laughed.. But this big spender and his friend were going to a concert that night and he needed a touch up... The cost of the two tickets, 400 bucks each.. But like sheryl crow says,, "if it makes you happy"


The amount of fun i'd get out of a gold mech that cost 250 verse an 800 dollar concert for me, no contest. I'd choose that mech every time, Though maybe i;d go with the concert, Like if it was Elvis coming back from the dead.. and not because it is Elvis.. But come on someone coming back to life to perform a show.. that's gotta be worth 800 bucks.. On second thought.. make if Frank and Dean... Yea.. i'd buy that ticket!

I want a gold adder too, because its just an amazign mech too. maybe we cna convince russ to make a wahle sale and he seels gold mechs only for like 200$? that would be nice don't need another package with them. But some shininess to support the game would be cool. Sure I cna buy all the other mechs and spent 200$ that way too. but what for, I rarely ever use them, wave 2 mechs are mostly totally untouched except thew ferret sicne we have scouting. A 200$ mech I use often is better than a 30$ mech I never use.

that comes kinda lcose sicne the wolf camo has some sort of reflection, yte its missing the amazing shininess at the edges. But its still looking cool.

Maybe we can convince russ somehow to amke more gold mechs for more variants and more chassis. I mean thats soemthign soem of us want. No one is forced to spent the money and it could be a easy bling bling way to make money for PGI while we cna support the game.

thats the point where I would like to ask wy you bought it and why you regret it now?

I bought my goldnova because they made the nova look really awesome and the gold looking awesome as well. And together wiht the time I palyed MWO and expected to still paly it those 500$ (a lot less with the weak dollar exchange back then) it averaged out to be at a usual subscription MMO price.
It soudns crazy because its a huge one time amount but over the course of time its kinda fine and not even that much.

If you've been playing for over 2 1/2 years it's actually less.

That is, of course, if you're not buying gold or anything else like that.

you still have to buy all the addons and thats additional costs as well. And when look at the € prize and the exchange rates then WoW is a lot more expensive here in europe. The new addon for example is already 44,99€ and the lowets sub is 10,99€

I paid 423€ for the gold mech back in that time due to exchange rates. 2.5 years of WoW would already cost 329€ so when its. togetehr with 2 addons thats the same price already I would have paid for playing WoW. WoW's Euro prices aren't bound to exchaneg rates. And then thats not including gold or pets or additional shop mounts.

You don't look like idiots and shouldn't have any regrets. Just doing a quick calculation I must've spent over $800 during my 5 years in EverQuest, and over another $700 on my 4 1/2 years in City of Heroes because those monthly fees really add up.

The good thing about MWO is that I don't have to give them money before I've felt they've earned it; when I give PGI money it's because I've gotten value for my entertainment and I feel that they deserve to be paid for the enjoyment they've already given me, not because they're making me give them money to continue having fun.

I spent more buying skins in Dota 2 than a gold mech and it's pack is worth. At least gold mechs shoot stuffs. :3

I'm new....didn't even know there was gold mechs. Haven't seen one in the two months I've been playing. Went to YouTube and watched some videos....they look shiny green on a lot of the videos...is that normal? Think they're cool but with 10,000 other shades they sell...I guess a lot of us new guys wouldn't even know what to look for.

WOW....just saw what they wanted for them!

How much for the 'duct tape' silver one?

I like my dark brown Urby..(the Terd)....I've gotten a couple of laughs during games...

250 bucks, (i say this because that is what it cost over the mech pack), make any mech in your stable golden!


I still say gold/silver/bronze need to be added, and rewards for major tournies. (not the typical score ones, i am talking team fighting ones)

Yea.. I was up close to 2k on SWG, and i gotta be close to what you spent on CoH.. i was around almost the whole time, and i had 2 accounts before you could buy extra slots, as i wanted to play on the same server, as i had a private base.

So yea.. close to 3 grand, in about 10 years.. the 150 i spent here is peanuts.. Makes me splurging getting my clan wave III next month not seam like much cash at all.. After all 3 years in CoH would of cost me another 540, which if the game was around i would of been happy to pay.. Man i loved that game!

Hmm that would of been enough for a gold mech, and maskari package!

Yeah, CoH was an awesome game that didn't deserve to end the way it did. I'm checking up periodically on City of Titans' progress, though that probably won't be done until 2018.
