Q: What is the "Tacticon B-2000 Battle Computer" mentioned on the Cyclops page?
The Tacticon B-2000 Battle Computer is a modified version of the standard Sensor suite found in the Head component of most 'Mechs. As with the Life Support system and the Cockpit, the standard Sensor suite is a piece of Fixed Equipment; it takes up 0 usable slots and weighs 0 tonnes.
The Sensor suite is what allows your 'Mech to use its standard targeting abilities.

The B-2000 Battle Computer is a special version of this standard Sensor suite, and is currently exclusive to the Cyclops chassis. It replaces the standard Sensor suite, takes up 0 usable slots, and weighs 0 tonnes.

The B-2000 Battle Computer provides the following benefits, on top of the standard abilities of the basic Sensor suite:

• Boosts the standard Sensor Range of the Cyclops 'Mech.
• Boosts the standard Sensor Range of any ally 'Mechs within radius of the Cyclops.

Anyone know if they removed or are still including this? Other than the FAQ, there hasn't really been anything about it and our sensors reach so damn far (barring ECM cover) anyways that I'm not sure if this even matters?

Having an "aura" that increases the sensor radius of mechs isn't really worth writing home about.

Depending on how well it works in a live environment, it could become a good addition to FW/Group Play... For PUGplay, bring a Kodiak.

By default, everyone has a sensor range of 800m. Even if you double stack Advance Sensor Range and BAP, you'd have 1200m of sensor range. However, since there's a lot of non-flat terrain, your effective range isn't as much as you'd like.

While an LRM boat "may" benefit from it (barely), you don't really gain that much when even the effective long range engagement depends primarily with the map involved.

It's too situational, and for LRMs... it's not a dealbreaker (I know I'll see a Cyclops LRM boat though).

And just like an MMO, everyone wants to play DPS (heavies), but no-one wants to play support or tanks. (Lights and Assaults)

And after the new "DPS-tank" came out (*hint* KDK-3 *hint*), everyone and their mom instantly play it!
