It's not always as simple as that.
If you don't know what "good" looks like, then everything relative to that changes your opinion.
For instance... say you think "your frankenmech" build is great... but when a friend tells you "this is a bad build" and shows you how to build a better mech... then your understanding of what a good build changes.
You could apply this to real life... but the point is that if you don't have any idea what "good" is relative to a specific thing... whether it is aiming in this game or whatever you can come up with... then it's very hard for a person to comprehend or translate the necessary skills/requirements into getting better at that specific thing.
Ironically, this could apply to many facets of the development of this game (not that anyone seems to notice).
