The personal challenges can all be achieved in a matter of hours, with just trial mechs.
Incorrect. Doubly incorrect when Real Life decides to drag you off and away for insane periods of time. Triply Incorrect for anyone whose Pilot Skill Rating is actually and honestly in the Tier 3 or worse zones.

Unless you're spending all your game time in the forums, like DV seems to be

Another dose of Incorrectness, so I seriously hope you're only trying to joke. To give you a rough idea, 95% of the time that you see me in the forums, I'm simultaneously in-game, waiting for the damned MatchMaker to actually put me in a round. You would be surprised how angry the wait times make me. Tonight, body pain, and having my day offset by Real Life, plus an MWO Game Patch are the only reason I'm not in-game right this moment.
Final Review, 2016 August "Weight Of The World Event" ---
PGI, I finally have to look at you again in complete disgust, and I really hate doing that. All of my previous points in regard to this Event still stand. Worse, and this runs the Review Rating to an absolute failing line of '0 out of 20', you made these further failures...
- Listening far too much to the "Make It Harder" whiners
I had previously helped you to tune things to where it was reasonable, and then you fired off another rude 'Pressure Cooker' type of time limit, all after listening to those extreme whiners who didn't think their Personal Challenges had a steep climb on them. Worse, you did this even with previous knowledge that having 28 Personal Challenges requires a longer time limit, ignoring sanity in favor of apparently insane people. That proof is in forum feedback from angry Mech Pilots, and your hidden but reviewable logs of failures to "complete" the Events by various players. Please avoid making this mistake in the future unless you're actively seeking Awful Review Ratings and Loss Of Player Sanity. Remember, "Word Of Mouth" is a powerful thing, and it has destroyed companies in the past. I would personally not like seeing the fall of another 'MechWarrior'-based game.
- Not extending Events (or not extending them enough) when there is indicated advance need
This Event, like several others in the past, indicated need for a time extension. Unfortunately, you didn't extend this event just as it needed. Worse, you didn't extend it just as soon as it was foreseen. The result is that only the cream of the crop, and a bundle of lucky pilots, really gained anything from this Event, and very likely more than 75% (I'm being conservative with that estimate.) of your current Active Player Base got screwed over. People who don't have 'Lemming brains' won't easily forget being slapped in the face like that, with some portion of those people remembering bad things like this without regard to time's passage. Simply put, if you wish to avoid Bad Public Relations, then please make sure to apply reasonable extensions to Events in the future when they're honestly and truthfully indicated by your player base, and reasonably ahead of when they end.
...and with that, this Event lies in ruins among the pile of the Worst-Executed Events. Between my initial four notes on Page 4, and two in this Final Review, there is a grand total of six things to review and fix in Future Events. See you at the next Event, PGI and everyone else, but I'll still be maintaining the same high standards with which I review and rate Events. I personally hope I'm not seeing a re-slide back into Bad Event Planning?
