I am unable to install PTS.

I am poor. I can't afford a new hard drive. I have 31 gigs free on my MWO PTS drive. The PTS client is 13 gigs to download.

I run out of space every time I install.

I extracted the PTS archive manually. When I try and run the game, it wants me to still patch, thus run out of space.

13 gig PTS client.
31 gigs free.

Can't install.

I have more than 2x required free space and can't install.

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG HERE?

I want to test. I can't test. I can't test because this scheme is awful. Is there a way to manually extract the client and skip the update junk?

Otherwise, I can't play. Freeing up more space is impossible.

I have come to the conclusion this is the worst game installer on earth. This is deplorable stuff.

Hah...I just went through the same thing. Had to delete some vids I didn't need.

I think I needed about 30gb but a lot of it comes back after the install, once the install files are done. Or maybe I was imagining that but I don't think so.

I submitted a support ticket explaining to PGI how they can fix their patcher with a five minute change to the looping algorithm and when the delete function is called after verifying downloaded file CRC.

This is easy stuff for them to fix to avoid all the excessive disk space usage.
