pretty sick event i must say.. 4 classes of leader boards.. with a ton of person rewards..

4 days premium
20 pack of consumables
8 supply crates
8 Keys
2.4m credits
4k GXP
300 MC

What a nice pile of rewards, great for grinding mechs, unlock a few modules, get a mech bay, and maybe if your lucky win one to fill it, or at least earn enough C-bills to fill it with all that bonus premium C-bills..

Maybe i'll get my atlas's finished this weekend in my limited game play time.. Yippy!

Yeah the participation rewards are nice. Though I kind of wish they would have changed the leaderboard rewards up a bit. There is only 4 this time (compared to 14-19 for the all chassis of a weight class) but the prizes are still top 5,10,25,50,75. Would have been nice if they were something like 4x that (example- top 20 would get the MC prize) so that more people could get those. Plus no premium time on the leaderboard prizes this time... Oh well, better than nothing and I might just do the easy prizes this time around.

This is not an overall good idea.

The event is really sweet. I give them a +++ for it.

A PTS for a core mechanic of this game going on at the same time? That's a - - - -.

It almost seems like the people who created the event didn't communicate with the ones who are trying to push people onto the PTS. Although I'm pretty sure their management isn't that split up.

But I wasnt going to download the PTS build anyway, so...

When every assault in every match is a Kodiak we will Posted Image

Probably should have done the heavies and then did something to encourage the use of other chassis for this event. Maybe a multiplier for the scores based on the top 75 average of each chassis or something. So a Kodiak would be the assault base line and Victors would get something like 1.5x to their scores.

it's very generous of PGI...however, just like that other thread that complained about free stuff from the loyalty program (you know who you are) there will be people that complain selfishly and immaturely about this event.

You answered your own question. Something tells me that the player base puts more thought and effort into PGI Online than the devs.

Well you could look at it like this.. All those new players that are still learning this game can get an event weekend.. You know the events that people like to complain about all the time, how they wont play on event weekends because the game play is so poor that it is not worth playing. The ones that can't stand being stuck with scubs that do nothing but camp? The ones that have all the MC they ever need, and 2.5m c-bills only will stack with their banked 500m cause they have nothing to spend it on and crates suck anyway so what's the point? But lastly because leader boards mean nothing anyway, because all they are is who grinds the most..

So all those folks that have been around, that have been waiting for years for a good balance and a new improved heat system will now have a reason to DL PST, even if it is just to avoid the dreaded potato people.

It is so crazy it just might work!

See an optimist,, Let's hope the realist in me doesn't win out.. that events are more important than PST

See this is another reason.. Lots won't bother anyway.. Let um play with the potato people and help um learn a little, while the true fans of this game, give it a solid try and test the crap out it!

It's funny, back in the day for many games that i got to play on public test and got invites to closed PST servers, i could of cared less what was going on in the normal game.. My goal as a die hard fan was to test and give feed back in the hopes the game would be better..

But for those that hardly understand the game as it is, or just don't have the time, or space, or maybe Data to actually get PST up and running.. at least they have something fun to do. So why not make this weekend the highest played weekend of the year.. With tons playing the events, and PST the highest numbers it ever has seen.

Well, I like the fact that with all four classes getting rewards we won't have 60% of the players trying to drop in one class.

The only problem for me is that my work week is Friday night through to Tuesday morning so I'm not going to be able to fit much fighting in. With the previous events being run until Wednesday morning I at least got one full day to get some good matches in instead of just a hour or two each morning after coming home from work.

They were thinking that more players don't care about a PTS than do care about it, that they don't want EVERYONE on the PTS finding all the flaws in their new idea, and that it'll thin out the seal club/potato farmer meta tiertard players from the leaderboard giving the average player a better chance. Also by spreading some of the player load to the PT servers and off the live servers should speed up the FPS rates and cut down on disconnects for the majority of the player pool.

I would have prefered to see an all chassis event.

it is nice that we now have oen which mixes all classes, but given the performance of the individual chassis in each weight class, you will surely see this being cominated by the kodiaks, Hunchback IIC's Novas, and all the other classses top chassis instead of a better mix iwithin the chassis of each class.

Well first off, the more data the better the evaluation. So just having the "leets" on the pts is the worst case scenario in testing new stuff.

My conspiracy theory: Population is so low, to prevent long matchmaking times you have to bait resigned players to actually play for this period of time.

I will drop this weekend i guess. Playing till i got all the free stuff and letting Premium Time ticking unused.

Another PGI fiasco. Spent the night downloading PTS again to find and event going on. I haven't found a match yet on PTS and now I know why.

Really its not about stupidity. They did this on purpose.
