Yes, "kiddies" play those games too, one more reason to go against toxic behaviour. Mocking the enemy is toxic, i have little to no understanding why someone would feel the need to do that even after they already won.
"i have insecurity issues" is rather fitting.
I don't throw "gg" on a rolfstomp because i think it is considerable rude toward the recieving end.

Simple team chat is on, all chat off. Better game that way, its just like real sports, teams do not chat with each other, unless a fight is about to happen.

I say GG sometimes win or lose. Sometimes I type it in response to the opponent saying it, like a hand shake after a game.

Now in Tier 5 if the opponents bring mass LRMs or the majority of the team doesn't torso twist or if people are calling us cheaters, then they get GG EZ. Yes that is light trolling, while sometimes in a Light Mech, but it's just a lazy and shorter way of saying "git gud" or "lrn2play."

I rarely say GG EZ, but I have. I wouldnt feel pride in winning by mass LRM spam or feel pride by accusing others of cheating. But if you do, I might throw out the phrase. Pretty harmless on my end, because I forget the whole thing when I'm in the next match.

What I find troubling in certain spaces is where language is being controlled. I understand not being graphic, but to ban the tiniest bit of trolling? Come on now.

In MWO's case, I very rarely see "GG" or anything like that. I do, however, see people trash talking the team they are on if we lose - happens all the time. A bit more rarely I see people lose their cool and blow up if they get killed while they were expecting their team mates to cover them.

MWO shoud get a filter for o7, seyla, trueborn, freeborn, links to any websites and everything said by people with «Kerensky» or «Wolf» in their nicknames. Space Furry Cringefest that game represents now scares away new players much harder than any toxic douchebags would do.

And MWO's adult community is much more touchy and sensitive to mocking than kids from LoL or Overwatch btw.

I have always loved how people can let people that the have no clue who they are be hurt by words type in a game.


I do think it's funny that the peoples here th3 b33f used to use gg ez pz all the time but everyone loved him for that.

I was never more in awe to the fact that typing ggclose in chat could make people ridiculously upset. Which of course feed that, so people kept doing. If you just ignored it and not reacted to some random person the internet everyone lives would better.

Once upon a time, GG was meant to express a "good game". Nowadays, everybody who managed to stay alive at the end of the round throws a "gg" regardles what the score is saying.

Personally, I go GGclose on the loss, when it's an absolute ROFLstomp

GG is 'good game' in MechWarrior parlance. Always has been. MechWarrior predates most current online games so we were there first and GG is good game, it's a compliment. So when you see it you just type GG back.

Going to be real honest here: If "GG close" is a hurtful comment to you, you need to let go th security blanket and ditch the pacifier.

MOST sports teams require members to shake hands or do something similar that conveys a "good game", "congratulations on the win", "thanks for the game" to the other team. GG says just that. Thanks for the game.

GG close could be taken / meant as an insult, or it could mean that the losing team was a lot closer to winning than the numbers imply. How many have been in a match where you really and honestly thought you were going to lose, the suddenly your teams rolled up 3- 6 kills and you ended the match 6-12 or 5-12? How many have seen your team catch an opponent with a flank they didn't expect and slaughtered a team that individually put up a hell of a good fight (but combined firepower took them down)?

Don't have such thin skins.
