If you played this week you really had a good chance to run into cheaters, I've been oneshot in a Timber twice and once in a King Krab and no tripple PPC and dual Gauss Kodiak did that (nor could it, that's only 60 dmg to a single component), I didn't even see what it was the first few times, the last one was an LRM salvo and mighty weird it landed on a single component...

Why are there never any videos accompanying these threads?

I kind of feel like there may be some cheating going on sometimes. But unless it's provable, it could just be lucky headshots, gaps in hitboxes, multiple simultaneous hits, or other 'natural phenomena'.

Every time I've examined my own videos, I've seen that what looked like cheating had another possible legit explanation. No evidence of cheating seen.

Never mind the naysayers. They were doing the same before the first ban wave and it happened to be their brethren in tryhardland who got caught.

They demand proof knowing only PGI could tell with their data so right there you can see they themselves are suspect.

Russ mentioned having a big list a long time ago then nothing was said or done which means those cheaters are still around. They need every body they can get in the game and when they saw it was whales doing the cheating the first pass they got nervous.

No score is valid or leaderboard is trustworthy under the circumstances. Letting this go on trashes the good with the bad.
One would think those who really are good players would rise up and demand a clean game but as you can see they say nothing or outright defend those scumbags by denial. Again that makes the lot of them highly suspect.

For starters if you claim that you run into these situations all the time then start recording and submit proof to support.

Timber has 46 internal structure and if you run 2 rear armor like me then even a dual-gauss-dual-ppc can one shot you into CT, let alone headshot you. Ammo explosions can easily be triggered for 100+ dmg. As for cool stories about how one LRM salvo one-shots you into a single component thats just laughable really, if you out in the open where LRMs hit you then you are bound to be hit by far more than just LRMs. It is easy even for you to take an end-game screenshot showing your paperdoll the moment you died and what weapons damaged you prior. But of course you didn't do that, eh?

1) I have 550+ hours on the game, I don't run into these situations "all the time", this event week was an obvious exception to the regular experience

2) No i did not do any screenshot, would it help? Of course no, there's plenty nay sayers anyway and I have little faith any action would be taken even with solid evidence, so who cares, I've sunk quite some hours into the game and I know **** here real well and can distinguish normal from "supernatural", if this resolves for the better I'll keep on playing and buying them mechpacks, if it goes for the worse I'll just move on

Look, no offense, if there are cheats and alike then I'm willing for those guys to be banned as much as you do, but I'm yet to see any. Four years of playing, about 40.000 matches played at least, thats like ... 8-10k hours? on the game as you put it, saw an obvious wallhack once but thats it.

What I see is people crying about how they constantly run into cheats and hacks with absolutely zero proof of their coolstorybros and absolutely zero willingess (or rather ability) to produce such proof in the future. Forgive me, but I'm going to be super sceptical about these "hackusations".

There once was a video proof everyone could see, the person in question got banned, end of story. Anything else is noobs blabbering.

You underestimate my typing speed versus the time required to get a screenshot and post it here and I'm also doing this on my work time, you know, getting some distractions between tasks


Cheats exist in any fps game because theres plenty of client side **** going on, that's why we have good lag, however during the client side operations injecting some data is very possible, no game is immune to that, even big companies like EA, Blizzard and Activision have a challenge in dealing with those and it's impossible to expect PGI to be able to handle it as well with them being much smaller.

The only upside is the fact that this game draws a much older audience thatn your average fps and hence the reason cheating isn't as prevalent


However it still sucks to get beaten unfairly

I would think a good hacker could put this to rest by going after the subscription list to the hack provider. One has to subscribe and I bet the e-mail list would be full of surprises.

Just like the last ban wave it was found that the loudest naysayers here on the forums was of the 64. I will never forget that as he chased me around the forums just like one guy posting on these threads.

Today I just got Headshotted out of nowhere while I'm in cover, in group and stay close with friendly ECM Atlas, pushing. I don't know this was a lucky shot or somone using hax. But I will keep on eye if someting fishy happen again.

Having said that, and having been accused in game many times of cheating, I find most accusations of cheating are baseless. I know people cheat at the game, but I do not believe it is as prevalent as some of you think.

I don't need a wall hack to see you poking from the same spot over and over, or if your smoking I Can follow that smoke behind walls and hit your side torso as soon as it shows, or hell the random UAV that you don't notice. I run Dual Gauss a lot, I have exactly 2 headshots when I Was actually aiming for the head. All the rest were just lucky snap shots from half-way across the map. With advanced zoom and my mouse that I can adjust the DPI I can hold ERLL on your side torsos from over 1000m in game, or aim for the part where the legs meet together and hit your center torso even if you are twisted.

Also I have noticed the last couple days that hit reg seems a little funky, as in Getting hit from the left and stuff is registering on the right side I need to do some more recording so I can send it to support.

For those who say they are not streamers so they are not always recording. If you have a Nvidia card 6 series and above you can use shadow play it works very well.. I keep it enabled when I playing to record stuff in general and just in case I see something funny I want to look at after the fact.

That's not the much bigger list Russ spoke of and it was a noob. The issue is much greater than one player at a time and we all know this.
